hes a good player and getting better and is our future, but I wouldn't rely on a rookie to defend a lead in the third period and would leave that to the vets? Horvat played sheltered minutes and went through the same trajectory in his rookie year.

For my 3rd & final comment, I just want to mitigate my other two comments by expressing that these jokes are all in fun and not in the least meant to criticize John Shorthouse as a broadcaster. He's damn good at what he does, and with Corey Hirsch sitting right next to him doing colour, and with thousands of hockey names & memories in his head, this is an understandable slip. And this kind of thing is bound to happen to all play-by-play announcers now and then. Keep up the awesome work, Shorty!

It’s a rough night for him, he just came back from Knee Surgery at 22. Personally I’d be pretty choked having knee surgery that young. I think he needs a couple games to find his groove again. Use to play with him on my team. I can tell he’s frustrated, but he works pretty hard. Let’s hope for the best.

If it weren't for Hart in the OT, there wouldn't have any need for a shootout. Some of the goals for both goalies were really crazy in this game.

I really think he played fine. By shootout I think he was gassed. Plus two of the Vancouver goals were lucky bounces. Can’t really fault him. Also we’re without some key players that would’ve made a difference, namely Hayes on the PK.

@@phillynation2906 You mean when the flyers player pushed OEL into the post? Yeah sure he helped knock it off, but don't hit a guy towards the post if you don't want them doing that. Calling an icing on the guy when the puck went off your own team lol. Doesn't matter if he made it down the ice first or not. Plus calling a high stick on a guy when a puck hits the guy in the head. Sure, the refs weren't trying to help a team losing by two goals like they always do.

@@BrodyCanuck it wasn't a high stick call it was a slash. You can't swing a stick shoulder height and hit another play up high. He hit TK in the shoulder after the puck, but his stick shouldn't have been that high in the first place. It was the correct call.

I’ve been watching the Flyers for 30 years. We rushed Hart into the NHL as our savior because the goaltending in Philly had been completely inconsistent since Hextall’s prime. We all over-hyped him because we were clinging on to some sort of hope that us die hard fans needed. Reality has kicked in, unfortunately. Hart is never going to be an amazing goalie. He will never be a Patrick Roy or Carey Price. He is an average goalie who would make a hell of a back up. It’s not his fault or the Flyers management. I don’t see this team going forward until they solve their goaltending issue that has been dragging them down since the late 90s...

The shootout is the dumbest contest in sports. It should be 2 points for a win zero points for a loss in the shootout. 2 points for a win and 1 point for a lossin overtime. This way you play to win or lose in overtime instead of sitting back and waiting for the shootout loss and the point.
