I don't think it's about McClellan it was about the veterans that stopped playing for Lalonde. They just wanted him gone and they would play better with the zamboni driver as a coach. Now, Todd is a good NHL coach and the veterans has started playing again and a lot of the young guns develop great (Johansson, Berggren, Kasper etc.)

Detroit withstood powerful Florida hockey. Now they have to go through a difficult series with Tampa (twice), Dallas, Los Angeles, Edmonton, Montreal. If the "wings" score 60% of points with them, it will be a good result. Good luck to RW.

The Red Wings have the best power player I’ve seen in the regular season, in years….. it’s so dynamic, and there’s so many weapons that can score. Our offense has gone from sterile to lethal since Todd came. That shot from Kasper was a fricken dart…. So. I grew up in the Detroit area, but I’m a fan of both teams, unfortunately, but the Wings need the points more. Cam Talbot was dialed in tonight. Thought he kept us in the game when Florida started getting desperate in the third. Huge win, go Wings.

Panthers had to take 4 penalties in order to stay in the game. The wings are a threat 5 on 5 too. That's why the PP is so good; because teams can't keep up so they have break rules and then they just get punished on the pk.

There's 3 teams in the east that are hot as hell right now. Habs, wings and blue jackets. 2 of these teams probably influenced by the habs in a way or another. The wings firing lalonde after losing 2 straight to the habs and Columbus getting butt hurt by laines comments which fueled them. Anyhow good thing on both teams to race up for the playoffs this year. We will see who gets on top in april.

Getting out skated leads to penalties. Their shots weren't quality aside from a few posts and they knew the wings were in control the whole game. Taking penalties to stop opportunities is a good strategy, except when you're getting outplayed 5 on 5. That's what happened in this game despite what the stat sheets tell you. Wings are a serious threat.

Not ugly in the slightest. Two gameplans were set in stone. Wings knew the cats wanted to throw pucks at the net; Talbot and our Ds did a phenomenal job at removing the cats ability to get second chances overall. The wings also dominated the neutral zone and excelled at the forecheck which resulted in the cats having to take 4 penalties to stop the wings from seriously running away with the game. They got punished 3 times for it. Overall, it looked like the wings held on, but they played a damn near perfect defensive game today.

Проиграли Детройту.....каждая команда из кожи вон лезет, когда играет против чемпионов......престижно выиграть у чемпиона......а "Флорида Пантерз" немного обновила состав......Бобровский тянет как тянул, но вот команде нужно до него дотягиваться и тянуть......потому что ушли отличные защитники из Флориды Махура, Монтур, Экман-Ларрсон......ассы защиты и кто играет вместо них......кто слышит их имена во время игры.......кроме Куликова и Микколы, Экблада......форварды должны забивать, а не заниматься параллельно защитой.....но я верю, что "Флорида Пантерз" сможет в этом сезоне защитить свой титул, недаром они потрясающая команда!

Shot volume doesn't mean anything if they can't get the rebounds; panthers were out skated and had to take penalties to hang on. They were punished for it. Wings are a serious threat now; it's not a fluke.

They’ve played “down” to opponents, regardless how much talent they have for years and years. K.C. Chiefs do it as well and many others. As someone else mentioned, happens all the time. Like they naturally take a mental night off against lesser ranked opponents, just human nature I guess. Would like to see that change and be more consistent but I’ll take 8-2 in 10.

Red Wings' power play has been dangerous all the season. 🏒. Dylan Larkin is the dynamo and leader of the team. They are on the way to play offs, finally this year. Pathers are tanking. There play is up and down atm, but just wait and see, when play offs start.
