What a smart defensive play. Highlighting the poor defensive moves by Bouchard not taking the pass away on a 2 on 1, and Desharnais with a weak, blind backhand in the slot to setup a Winnipeg goal. Big and disciplined are what you need in defense, and smart is a bonus.

@@ryans413 Odds are they will be "Cupless" in 3 years. Oilers have so much money in them and Nurse they don't have much to spend on getting GOOD defenseman. You aren't going to win a Cup without a really GOOD defense. The interesting thing will be is if in January of their last year if they say they won't resign if Oilers trade one or both of them. They play out the season and don't resign the Oilers get NOTHING. If they trade them, they get something in return.

Man, the Oilers look different and scary now, after the additions of Desharnais, Ekholm and Bjugstad. Ekholm COMPLETELY changes the whole picture of the blue line. Bjugstad adds scoring depth, size and penalty kill. Campbell is the only concern, but Skinner plays like a #1 I think the Oilers finally have a team to match Colorado now.

Те команды, которые разнообразнее, - способны парировать эти удары. А в таких ситуациях Эдмонтону противопоставить и нечего. Что в плей-офф и случается с ними..

Then when Jets were head hunting trying to hurt guys at 6-1 woodcroft sat the big guys. PP was 3rd and forth liners on it. Wasn't until 6-3 woodcroft put the big boys out to close it.
