Sportsnet has always done that, you probably watched official NHL channel ones without realizing. They show a really watered down version of the game in those highlights, no big hits/fights etc.

For the last decade I've preferred to watch NHL games and coverage on TSN, Sportsnet and HNIC on CBC for the better broadcast, presentation and analysis thanks to let's just say, "the internet" lol. Back in the 2000s I got a taste of it with the Center Ice package on cable. I now exclusively watch the game highlights I missed on Sportsnet's YT channel as well for exactly those reasons and the fights. Bettman and his oligarch cronies have Americanized and corporatized tf out of the NHL in all the wrong ways. When the dictator Bettman finally retires the NHL needs a Canadian at the helm again.

He fit in really well on Tampa’s powerplay and was a great leader. He’s not a good 5v5 player anymore and doesn’t know what to do without his old teammates. He’s used to getting beautiful feeds from Hedman and Kucherov, he doesn’t have that anymore. BriseBois is somewhere thinking “I told you so”

I’ll be honest, I expected more exposure and puck touching from Jeff Skinner. He was once a $9 million annual player and that is about $12 million a season if that was contracted in today’s terms like Mcdavid & Leon in their recent contracts. He was once a star at Carolina with us and he’s just falling off. While Mcdavid is lightning fast, no one has the cornering and agility off 3 steps like Jeff. This kid can really move after 1-3 steps but then he’s at full speed and can’t maneuver like Mcdavid. He also has one of the smoothest slap shots you will ever see because the flex on his stick is so perfect to his weight that is bends like a bow and that gives him the ability to shelf it upper post. Trust me, if Skinner finds his groove again, he will be a top 5 player on that team in points. Easily.

However, I have no idea how anybody can call Skinner overrated, I can't think of another goalie in the league who gets as much negative attention as he does.
