We look so much deeper and more structured than last year... Debrincat has definitely come as-advertised. Last year we had a really streaky play style even when we looked good. This year we actually look a bit like the position-oriented, puck-possession based wings teams of years past.

Last year was the first time in years are team had a spark to it and competed. You just never knew when the spark would show up. This year, there’s a constant buzz and energy. Early on things are looking good

Its only 4 games so I'd take it with a healthy helping of salt, but with what we've seen so far I'd say Debrincat has been BETTER than advertised. He had an off season with Ottawa and nobody was expecting him to be back so soon to scoring like this. Even Ottawa Debrincat was going to be welcome scoring on this team, but if this pace continues we're looking at Chicago Debrincat.

We may have had a hot start last year, but we're playing very different hockey than last year already. We haven't had many huge individual efforts or huge strokes of luck. We've had solid positional hockey with a defense that actually seems to know where to be. Think about the highlight-reel plays that were stringing us along this time last year until injuries screwed us... We're doing far better at not giving up turnovers and applying legit offensive pressure instead of just playing keep-away. That alone is worth being excited over imo.

As a pens fan, Im excited to see the redwings have some life again. I wish for the pens to win always, but never against a self defeated team and the Red Wings look to be a team to lookout for this year.

The pens are in the same situation roughly as the wings were a decade ago. Aging core, with no new guys to pass the torch to. Good enough to make the playoffs but not a real threat. Hard to restock on stud players when you can only draft later on and have minimal cap room. Once that core retires In a handful of years the Pens will have a nasty rebuild. Those years weren’t fun (wings statistically like 4 years ago were one of the worst teams in NHL history)

My beloved red wings looking like a playoff team,there defending better there more faster there scoring,there powerplay and penalty kill has really improved, and there doing really good keeping it in there zone more often.I noticed when it looks like it’s about to be cleared they keep it in and still taking shots,they need to start shooting a lot more though and quit passing it and dancing around with it cause you never know if you can score,they’ve been struggling with that for years.

The Lions won the refs over a few games ago in the NFL after the win over the Packers and after that game the Lions were made officially the "darlings" of the NFL.. thus following the suspension lift to Jamo .. NOW they decided to do the same in the NHL and decided to use the Lions good credit to convince the refs of the same😂.. It's all a process by committee of getting Detroit sports teams on the map😁

I could see them being a 7th or 8th seed. The problem is the core of the team is very old, talented but old. Malkin and Crosby are great but should be in The position to take lesser roles and let the young studs take over.. there’s no young studs unfortunately
