Kane was on the Wings last season, was very good, and the team was usually pretty good. His mistake was re-signing.

It’s pretty bad when I hope we lose just to get rid of Lalonde. Yzerman is a joke of a GM. No plan, no team identity, second worst penalty kill in the NHL and horrible 5 on 5. Btw, need a goalie and some TOUGH D. First, we need to flush the imposters.

Saying you want more tough defensemen is a horrible take. That’s the reason this team is where it is. We’re already taking up 3 roster spots and paying over 10 million to holl, chairot, and petry because of their size and Stevie’s idea of having a big blue line. Think how much better this team would be if we kept our skilled guys like ghost and walman instead of those pylons Stevie signed to long term deals.

Hard to judge Lalonde with this awful roster construction. I say this as a lifelong Wings and especially Yzerman fan. He’s made some downright terrible decisions. No power forwards, signing Talbot instead of Stolarz, only 1 top 6 center and top forwards are all the same player, small, soft, perimeter players. No balance. Larkin and Seider are core players. Raymond is an excellent complimentary player but this team has nobody aside from Larkin that drives a line. Copp and Compher are career 3rd liners and Stevie thinking he could sign them to be a top 6 center after career years was foolish. Copp regressed to his average. Maybe he’ll find another small winger or 3rd line center to sign and think that’ll fill the needs. And then the D core….

It’s the coaching system. Lalonde is just stubborn at this point. He won’t change it because then he would have to admit he’s wrong. Same thing with Yzerman not firing his thumb looking ass.

Yzerman can hang it up on this season. Seen enough of this roster to last a lifetime. I remember distinctly people calling Seider the second coming of Lidstrom but I can't seem to recall Nick ever getting dogwalked by a player of Kevin Fiala's caliber. At least his contract is easy to move for good returns. Go ahead and start selling Stevie. It's not a winning recipe.
