Lindgren plays wayyy too far back in his net on shootouts. As far as I remember from when I played in the early 2000’s, you were allowed to come way out of your net, once the plays passed the blue line. That 2nd snap shot goal block side was all because he was off angle and too far back in the crease.

Lindgren is just not cutting it. He just can't make stops when you need them.
@ericfleming5522Күн бұрын
I'm a big fan of Charlie, particularly after the dumpster fires that were Darcy Kuemper and Ilya Samsonov. But yeah, I'm coming around to thinking that the guy needs a break so he can spend a couple weeks with the goaltending coaches to figure out what's going on with his game.
@ArgentLostКүн бұрын
He has flashes. But I just don't have any hope he will make those stops you need a goalie to make in a tight game. Breakaway? Knew it was in. He was passable tonight ... which would normally be fine .. against a good team. But not the Sabres. Eh. Still a good year, so not worth complaining on.
@ericfleming552219 сағат бұрын
@@ArgentLost In fairness he stopped two breakaways and a shorthanded two-on-one against the Red Wings last week. But he also gave up two softer goals that game. That's a big part about what's confusing me about Lindgren's game right now. Moneypuck will say he gave up like 1.5 goals over expected in losses where he gave up four but probably should have give up one or two more. And he'll also have wins where his stats will say he gave up nearly 2.0 fewer goals than expected, but I know the other team got three shots from point blank at a wide open net but kept missing by inches. (I think that was his game against the Lightning?) He's so consistently inconsistent from minute to minute, it's baffling.
@davidquesnel4685Күн бұрын
Just another typical Sabres game giving up leads. There will be no playoffs for this team this year.

Nope. Backwards motion has always been allowed as long as its within a stickhandle thats overall motion is going towards the goal.
