On March 15, 2028, the NHL, Fox Sports, and TNT Sports will sign a new 8-year media rights agreement starting from the 2028-29 season and running through the 2035-36 season. The NHL’s current 7-year media rights agreement with ESPN, ABC, and TNT Sports is set to expire following the 2027-28 season.

This theme always reminds me of the Florida Panthers' cup run in 1996, when rats were being thrown on the ice. Or as a Buffalo Sabres fan, their cup run in 1999 (the year I was born), and Brett Hull scoring the cup clinching goal in Buffalo in Game 6 of the Finals, with his skate in the goalie crease.

That was a preview for what will be happening for 2021-2022 season since FOX along with ESPN are likely to take over from NBC as the US TV rights holders for the NHL. It should be pointed out that the NHL hasn't made a decision on who will have the rights beyond this upcoming season but don't surprised to see FOX and ESPN/ABC regain the rights.

@@markzalass as of yesterday your prediction is correct as NBC has pulled out of the bidding for the NHL "B" package. However it isn't Fox that is likely to get the rights. Instead it is likely that Turner (TBS & TNT) will get the remaining rights.
