Probably the best one you have done since the re-launch and will end up being one of the top ones you have done. Whitey has gone through hell and back and glad he is getting his life back together, doesn't need money when you have sobriety and determination (money does help though, i understand). Also incredibly jacked up that guy 1) Throttled it to not let him (seriously, everyone gonna get there) and 2) Lied his ass off about the weapons. Wish there were significant penalties for those that exaggerate or outright lie on 911 calls. Its an issue here in the states also. Ive also had the unpleasant situation of put my signal on to move over and someone throttling it... serious douche canoe move. Sad to also hear that prosecutors and cops are just as shitty up there as they are down here. Thank you for getting Whitey, truly wonderful piece and let him know his candor and honesty was really appreciated.

Lidstrom White Kronner, Stuart Smith/Quincey/Big E would have been the proper way to play that Nashville series. You still had Valtteri Filppula playing top notch 2 way hockey as a 3rd center behind Datsyuk and Z, Babcock literally did work to make that team not work.

I feel for Ian. Fetty addiction & dependency is no joke. It takes so much courage to push through and come out the other side. P.S @ 50:00 Wow, so Ian actually went ahead and played three NHL level professional hockey games in acute alcohol withdrawal, lol. Unfathomable, lol. It’s all part of the journey tho, eh. P.s.s. @ 104:00 Im sure none of the charges were the result of any criminal intent, but they seem to have been rightly filed per the circumstances. Strict regulations serve a purpose. When someone gets shot accidentally, is not when we should realize the importance of keeping them all in the safe, for example; or, when legal firearms wind up in the hands of criminals, isn’t when you want to understand why they’re tied to a specific address. These things are important. And even if they weren’t the result of any sort of criminal mindset, they were also not the result of bad luck, but that of carelessness. One that was probably tied to an addicted lifestyle, and as much as we support someone like Ian, we should not make excuses for such things.

Ian dove in front of a shot and blocked it with his face, and only missed a few games with the broken jaw. That's the kind of thing that endears a player to Detroit fans forever. The thing about coaches like Babcock and Keenan who think that they can play mind games like Scotty Bowman is that they don't understand that they're nothing close to Scotty, who changed over the years.

More like 3-4 mil. After city, state/provincial, federal taxes, agent fees etc. Still a lot of money, but he prob had to pay child support and alimony, maybe a few down payments on houses, cars, bills, vacations…over many years, it’s not nearly as much as you think. And that’s putting drug problem aside.

Fantastic podcast - the best so far. Very interesting to hear Ian White's story. Very open and candid. I hope he stays sober. Here is a link to W5 story on Ian White kzbin.info/www/bejne/e5uUgaCphZlgrtU. Take care

Good job …but maybe don’t tell everyone you have a new wife…because you are still legally married to your first wife! Literally just admitted to being a bigamist ! 😂 Also, missed the part in your story where you were living in a hotel…paid for by The NHLPA …because you were homeless and strung out on drugs and alcohol! If they could get you playing hockey somewhere, then they wouldn’t have to pick up the tab anymore!! Win win for everyone! Lots of missing pages to your story…but I get it sometimes you just have time to share the things that don’t make you seem like a total piece of 💩 I really do hope that you are finally and truly sober! Next thing we know you’ll be remembering what it means to be a responsible parent and put your children’s needs before your own…and help keep clothes on their backs and food on the table! Wouldn’t that be an amazing miracle?! I hope for them…you realize it really quickly…because they are amazing children in spite of you…and everything you’ve done and they deserve so much better! Thank goodness they are surrounded by people that show up for them everyday without fail…and they have the most loving, supportive, kind and amazing kick a** Mother!

I've had the honor and priviledge of getting to know your ex-husband on a personal level and proud to call him a friend and say he's an outstanding dude. You should seriously consider moving on. Can see there is a lot of spite in this comment as well as the one sided TSN piece where you played the victim without sharing ian's side or his families side. Influencing your children's decision to have a relationship with their dad isn't cool either. Happy to talk anytime but what you're doing is extremely childish and it may be time to seek a higher purpose in your life.

You might hate your ex and I'm sure you have reasons but please give him credit for trying to do better. Please don't teach yours and his kids to hate him. Maybe he needs his kids to motivate even more to do even better. Simple phone calls help.

Ian is NOT my Ex… but …he has had ample opportunity to be The Father he once was , and have visitation with his kids while supervised for obvious reasons has been welcomed and encouraged! His wife has long moved on , don’t you worry! What we would all like is for Ian to move on and remember what being responsible for two living wonderful beings means! Kids aren’t cheap…and we as parents are responsible for them…even when we live far away from them! They need clothing, food, and money for activities…as parent’s we are responsible for our kids daily living needs to keep them alive! It’s literally the law…he needs a little reminder of this! His wife is a way better person than I am, and has been more than supportive and patient! He needs to make plans to show up for important events and remember when their birthdays are and bring a gift! Part of making amends for all the pain you caused your loved ones…is making an effort to make it up to them! Ian’s kids deserve that from him…they may never forget but if he put in a little effort…kids are resilient and they will forgive if given the opportunity! He has never been kept away from his kids…unless he showed up high and posed a danger to them for the record! Both of his amazing children play hockey btw…how cool would it be if he showed up for a game sometime! Looking forward to seeing if he can step up to the plate finally…it’s been a long time! Ian is not needed because his kids literally have an amazing village of people to support them… but if he took an interest and followed through on plans and didn’t break promises to visit or show up he would be welcomed over time! He is the only one missing out…children grow so fast and he is missing out on so much! Ian’s hopefully soon to be Ex-wife 🤞🏻has never/would never say a negative word about him…to the public or his children! She is an exceptional human…she is just always around picking up all the pieces and putting them back together! She is an amazing role model to her children! She has the biggest heart…endless energy and is always putting her kids needs before her own! She has the strength and perseverance of 10 women…I have know idea how she does it!

So if I understand the situation, you have known Ian for just over a month. Yet you feel that you can tell his wife and mother of their 2 children to move on ? I am sure that this woman could be on your podcast for weeks telling stories about Ian … why don’t you try that ? Seriously I wish Ian the best going forward. I had a brother in law that was more like a brother to me than my own brothers were. But he became an alcoholic. He never would admit that it was destroying his life. He had a great wife, 2 great kids, a great house and a great job. ALL of that was lost because he would not accept help. As they say you have to want to be helped. That is so true. He died at 52 years old … alone. All of which is to say you don’t have the right to tell his ex ( or soon to be or whatever) anything.
