Eric S. We are going to lose one of our goalies from Seattle anyways so we might as well trade Markstrom so we don’t resign him for the absurd price he will ask for and be stuck with a good goalie but lower tier starter getting paid big bucks. Canucks won’t be major contenders for at least four years and that would be plenty of time to have Demko develop if we started him. By then we would have an elite offence with an elite goalie and very good defence... but it’s the Canucks and they can’t trade big names unless it’s for nothing and we retain their salary or we will run into another Cory and Roberto situation. Got to protect Demko when Seattle comes regardless if Markstrom gets resigned... Demko might not be a multiple round playoff goalie right now but the team isn’t anyways. I don’t think the young guys would last to the cup right now so having Markstrom starting who could go maybe two rounds doesn’t matter cause we aren’t in winning form.

Don’t forget about the Nashville Predators. 6 goals in 8 minutes, setting another Avalanche record. I’m also gonna go out on a limb and say that was a record for goals against for the Preds, and it not, just wow. There’s also context here. You Avs fans out there were probably thinking the Avs were gonna get screwed hard by the Preds. No Nikita Zadorov, no Rantanen, no Landeskog for probably the season, no Grubauer, etc. Sure enough, the Avs have lost 8 straight games coming into tonight. However, the Avs defied the odds in the 1st, up 2-1. Already outshooting Nashville 19-6, the Preds score 2 in the first 5 minutes to take the lead. Then, the Avs would score 6 goals on 12 shots in 8 minutes. I’m basically writing the dang-it right now. so feel free to use my idea.

Bruins play was not offsides regardless of whether or not you consider him having possession with his skate. The PUCK only needs to ON the blue line before the PLAYER can be COMPLETELY OVER the blue line, and also the player is allowed to have part of himself in the zone before the puck is in so long as part of one of his skates is still behind or touching the blue line, even partially. The puck doesn't have to go all the way over the blue line before it's considered "inside" the zone. It only needs to be completely on the blue side of the blue line. In this case the player was not all the way in the zone by the time the puck was completely inside the blue of the blue line so it's not offsides PERIOD.

In regards to possession of the puck with your skates, the league stated that it is considered possession to kick the puck to your stick. That was the reason they gave for allowing the Brett Hull OT winner against Buffalo. The reason they called it offside was because they were only looking to see if he entered before the puck and not weither he had possession of the puck or not. Linesman don't want to give penalties for offside reviews, so they are looking for it to be offside. Last year when it was just a lost timeout, reviews weren't as long and were overturned less. Now that it's a penalty, they take forever and almost always get overturned.
