One of my favorite hockey things is that you get these amazing feats of athleticism and incredible goals and then you also get a player slipping on ice, another player tripping over that player, and suddenly there's just 3 giant men scrambling to get up to get back into the game.

Vincent Trocheck lost a skate blade in the first period, one of the goalie's helmets came off in the second, and then... whatever you wanna call this happened in the third

OK, to be fair on Marchment, True has had some issues lately with their rivets and screws holding up. I work in a hockey shop, and I personally have seen two tendonguard screws sheared completely off in the last two weeks. There's a clear quality control issue in Winnipeg.

Of course it was Dion Phanuef... haha. Say what you want about him as a player, the guy could at least shoot a puck. I remember a game back when he was a Flame playing against Vancouver, where he wired a shot. Slammed Luongo square in the forehead. It was rather comical, Luongo just collapsed like a freight train hit him. Unfortunately, the puck didn't roll in to the net. Would have made the scene so much better. But the sight of a goalie getting pegged by a slapshot and getting floored by it is a sight I won't forget. Luongo was fine, needed a bit of a breather but finished the game haha.

I remember one game, there was a dump in from the other end of the ice. It took a bounce and came straight towards me. I went down to stop the puck and slipped on my loose toe lace (hate those things). However I landed on the puck as it hit my crease. Best save I ever made. My dad named it after me.

Re: Biega goal The moment I always think about for a shot hitting a helmet is the one where Versteeg was injured and down on the ice before taking a shot to the head. That was terrifying in real time. His helmet had a dent but his noggin was fine.
