I would say the devils should upgrade their blue line some more. But their offense and goaltending is ripening. They have a lot of good developing young talent. Wont be long till the devils are a force to be reckoned with.

Cellar Dweller Hischier isn’t a highlight player. Neither is Stone, Couturier, Bergeron. Are they not great players because they don’t show a ton of flash? There’s more to hockey than silky mitts

Cellar Dweller I’m not comparing him to those guys, but you made it seem like you just wanted better success at pulling off great dekes and other tangibles that may look sexy it aren’t necessary to play good sound hockey. Hischier’s even strength point production has been pretty unnoticed however. There’s some great centers who he’s stacked up pretty well against at even strength but I don’t have data off hand so you’re gonna have to take my word for it or research it. But what I do know is that while he doesn’t stack up offensively to someone like Pettersson (who’s often a comparable), but the difference isn’t by as much as many think. The defense isn’t close however. Hischier has way better defensive numbers

Hughes is a bust and I’m a devils fan. Too small, falls down all the time, he needs to be strong on the puck and I don’t see that happening any time soon. Why do we always look so lazy and unprepared compared to every other team? Get these guys ready for a game for crying out loud. I’m so sick of mediocrity
