For non hockey people with questions: Rempe(73 blue) threw a bad hit on one of the Devils players last time they played, and refused to fight when MacDermid(23 white) tried to get him after. The Devils weren't happy about that so tonight Travis Green(Devils Coach) started his most physical players, and Peter Laviolette (Rangers coach) responded in kind. What you see in the video is the result of that 10 times out of 10, especially when the teams are rivals who just played a physical 7 games series in the playoffs last year.

Here's a little more detailed version of gimp's reply: Rempe(73 blue) threw a bad hit on one of the Devils players last time they played, and refused to fight when MacDermid(23 white) tried to get him after. The Devils weren't happy about that so tonight Travis Green(Devils Coach) started his most physical players, and Peter Laviolette (Rangers coach) responded in kind. What you see in the video is the result 10 times out of 10, especially when the teams are rivals who just played a physical 7 games series in the playoffs last year.

A lot of history between these 2 teams last year devils knocked the rangers out in the 1st round this year devils not in the playoffs and rangers are 1st in the league and it’s all carried over into this season these teams hate each other, 1 hates one cus of last year , 1 hates one cus they not in the play offs. Plus the rangers beat nj every game this year so NJ is pissed, Plus we got a 6’8 kid that just bitches anyone from NJ around 😂 . There was also a nasty hit last game that resulted in future retaliation thus causing a line brawl 2 seconds into the game

Appreciate the throwback vibes but not good for modern hockey. Eight game misconducts doesn’t make for a good hockey game. Just a useless distraction.

There were ten physical games that set the tone for this one, culminating in a blatant elbow from the big guy in blue to one of the Devils a month or so ago.

That's just like how the NFL continually gives lip service to "player safety," but continues to sell videos containing the same hits that players got fined and/or suspended for.

Its a business. Most fans don't want this. Besides, didn't the league get sued for concussions? Of course they have to limit this. To be at the highest level, they have to play by corporate rules. @@jackiewurdemann7204
