You just have to love this little puttering U18Bs. Mr. Ouellette always seemed to know where to point the camera.

The only Maine Central U18b to be refitted with the short nose from a U25b.

When I was a kid, any time we went through Salem, I'd have my eyes peeled for any trains. But I never got to see one moving. Just parked cars at Grossmans and behind. It bums me out that all of this is gone, but I still have hope that one day the M&L will be revived as commuter rail. It's just such a no-brainer that it has to happen eventually.

Error 404 - locomotive not found

I actually talked to a guy today about that...he described the location, but I'm not familiar with the area. It is in Lawrence and it splits from the Main near where the tower used to be. It is also still in service, but sees only occasional use. I bet if you use Google Earth you could find it. Craig

That was really nice to see GTI operations around Lawrence and Salem. I'm not familiar with Lawrence except occasional drives along the canal, which I always thought would be a great place to photograph or video RR moves.

3:30 those are some of the tallest crossbuck poles I I've ever seen! Lol

+drby0788 If i didn't know better i would probably say that used to be a wig wag signal mast.
@mattydred725 жыл бұрын
The taller masts and longer crossbuck blades were common on the B&M system until just about 1986, when other shortlines and Guilford started to outfit crossings with newer, more compliant signaling.

It took me a few seconds to recognize the crossing at Becon ST and the industrial park. What is really cool is I was working at the auto repair shop where the track crosses RT 28 in 1989. I was probably working that day too! Ken's Auto Repair. I was looking for my car in the lot. Awesome! Thanks for sharing!
