ഇന്ന് ഇന്ത്യയിൽ ഏറ്റവും അധികം കുടിയേറുന്നത് കേരളത്തിൽ നിന്നുള്ള യുവതലമുറയാണ്. അതിനു കാരണം അവർക്ക് ഇവിടെ അവസരം ഇല്ലാതെ പോയി എന്നതാണ്. മറ്റുള്ള സംസ്ഥാനങ്ങളിൽ ഉള്ളവർ പുതിയ Startup കൾ തുടങ്ങിയും Foreign Direct Investment കൾ ക്ഷണിച്ചും പുതിയ വ്യവസായ സൗഹൃദ അന്തരീക്ഷം സൃഷ്ടിച്ചു അവിടെ തൊഴിൽ സൃഷ്ടിച്ചു കൊണ്ടിരിക്കുകയാണ്. ഇന്ന് കേരളം കളിയാക്കുന്ന UP യാണ് ഇന്ത്യയിൽ GSDP യിൽ 2 ആം സ്ഥാനത്തു നിൽക്കുന്നത്. കേരളം ഇതുവരെ സാമ്പത്തികമായി നിലനിന്നിരുന്നത് പ്രവാസികൾ അയക്കുന്ന Gulf പണം മാത്രം കൊണ്ടായിരിന്നു. അങ്ങനെയാണ് കേരളത്തിലെ Retail മേഖല ഇത്രയും ശക്തിയാർജിച്ചത്. ഇപ്പോൾ Foreign Remmitance ന്റെ കാര്യത്തിൽ ഗണ്യമായ കുറവ് ആണ് ഉണ്ടായിരിക്കുന്നത്. അപ്പോൾ തന്നെ കാണ്ണാം കേരളത്തിന്റെ പോക്ക്. ഡിജിറ്റൽ പേയ്‌മെന്റ് എന്ന സംവിധാനം മത്സ്യ തൊഴിലാളികൾ ഉപയോഗിക്കുമോ എന്ന് ചിരിച്ചു തള്ളിയ ഒരു സാമ്പത്തിക ശാസ്ത്രജ്ഞാനെ കിട്ടിയതാണ് കേരളത്തിന്റെ ശാപം 😢. ഇപ്പോൾ ഉള്ള സർക്കാർ നിലവിലുള്ള വ്യവസായികളെ തന്നെ എങ്ങനെ കേരളത്തിൽ നിന്നും കെട്ടുകെട്ടിക്കാം എന്ന് ഗവേഷണം നടത്തികൊണ്ടിരിക്കുകയാണ്.

We came to canada 12 years back. Life is much easy here if you are ready to work. Work life balance is much better than UAE. Now I am 36 years old and planning to settle back in kerala, as we are financially stable. Go abroad and make some money. Once you are stable you will have 2 options. Either settle in that country or come back, when you are financially stable Note: never try to start business in kerala with that money you have saved

I am working in IT. There are companies which will allow work from home. I have plan to work for next 5 years, till I am financially independent. That means I will be able to withdraw necessary amount from my investments(mostly in stock market) every month to maintain the decent life style. I can do the same , if I work in canada for next 5 years. But my kids will not be able to adapt the education in kerala, if I delay 5 more years

I live in New Zealand for 11 years now, I came here, studied, worked part time jobs, got a job after my studies, got PR, changed my job to a better career, got my citizenship, bought a house, married and have kids now, have enough money for w comfortable life, travelled many countries with the passport visa free. If we want we can integrate to the local community and u will be welcomed, if u r not interested u can do ur work and get back to ur family. U get the services for the tax u pay, no VIP culture, u r treated equally, dont have to beg to govt officers, most things are online. A bank loan take only 3-4 hours and just need ur salary certificate. The only thing to remember is if u work u get money. I am proud about my decision to leave the India seeing the situation in Kerala now. Come once in a while live like a king for a month and come back.

Immigrate - You will mostly do well moving here with PR/Work Permit. Student visa - Not so rosy - Be prepared to hustle for the first few years. I would also like to point out that you don't get to hear positive stories because those who are successful never comes on media. Most everybody I have met here in my last two years are doing really well. The key is to be open minded and be willing to get out of the urban nightmare in Toronto and Vancouver. No country is perfect, and life sometimes can throw things at you. That's how it works. But I am yet to meet a Malayali who regret moving here.

Not really. I migrated to Canada at the age of 44 from Saudi 24 years ago. Never regretted leaving a pensionable job in Saudi Aramco. Now getting a better pension than what Aramco would have given, plus my educated wife could find a decent job in Canada, which was anathema in Saudi. Overall life in Canada way better than gulf (where we visited few times in the last 10 years).

People who go from here are skilled resource and they grab the jobs of non skilled people of canada or UK to survive. This is creating a huge social impact in that country. Our clerks in kerala's dhs and office don't want to pay salary here for doctors or nurses .. so better go abroad to a place where there is better transparency in service than serve in a system where spouses (ladies)of politicians get salary and office jobs for causing trouble to health providers.

There is another aspect. I am marunadan for over 40 yrs.When some friend or relative asks about migrating to the country ( some 6 of them) where I was living, instead of giving all good things we arev tempted to give not so pleasing things first.Because usually a newcomer is not going to experience good things first but most probably the black side. I have passed through many stages. But the people who seek advise/ help Immediately respond that I am not willing to co operate because being a close migrant I won't get what I can get via a broker for HELPING! Looked funny? That is reality. Once a glossy picture is given and when the person lands problems start.Right from residence to dress to cobat unbelievable cold if minus 28 degrees( not in 2024 !) They find my family rich with big house 3 cars etc etc.But such things comes after decades of suffering or living with many sacrifices.

Life in UK was comparatively successful till 7/8 years ago. Cost of living , inflation and other life style indicators were compatible to the salary. But the inflation is much highest, houses not available, job opportunities are less. Our people are struggling,the young-esters are struggling for food, for accommodation, personal hygienic needs even. Only few people achieve their goals. Indians are exploiting Indians especially Keralites.

That’s really true when you come to other countries refugees have better life than migrants. Pine it really really struggling for first few years for students it’s not gonna be easy . Although there is some truth in what you say, if someone whose qualification is already recognized by the host country, one can find a comfortable time in these countries. There can be racism and discrimination to face with along with high cost of living. The biggest challenge is high rent that eats a major share of average wage. No home help of any kind is affordable and menial work of the home needs to be done by the migrant. Cultural dissimilarity and children bearing the brunt of it is another area of concern. Those who come without qualifications without immediate register-ability will go through serious mental challenges leading to depression . Missing family occasions of importance and alienation from one’s own culture is an important issue.
