私も日本語を教えていますが、このビデオを見させていただいてとても参考になりました。ただ日本語能力試験5級では必ず「へ」が使われているので、やはりどうしようもないので、今の段階では「へ」を使うけど、4級以上になったら同じ内容でも「に」を使っても良くなるよと言っていました。 面白いビデオ、どうもありがとうございます

Duolingo isn't perfect. It can be helpful, but I stopped using it because the automatic voice always read 「日本人」as 「にほんひと」, even though I knew it was read as 「にほんじん」. (However, this was a while ago. They might've fixed it by now.)

Am I wrong in feeling that へ is used more in the sense of "towards" or "in that direction"? I've only noticed it being used a handful of times, but it always seemed to be in situations where the sentence wasn't so much about getting to the destination as it was about the journey towards the destination being in progress.

That's what I've always seen as an explanation of the difference between the two particles, too. I'd never heard about へ sounding more polite before watching this video, tbh.

That's what I understood as well. It seems natural to say "右へいってください。" I've always considered へ to indicate direction, and に to indicate destination or location. Am I wrong?

Correct me if I'm wrong: に in this context is more about purpose and reasoning. Like "going shopping to buy food" While へ is more about intention. Like, "this present is to [noun]" Not really sure about へ as I've never seen / heard it used.

It's completely OK that both of them are "ni," grammatically speaking. But "e" is a little bit desirable, I think, 'cause it's not so pleasant phonetically to use "ni" twice, especially very near to each other, in a sentence.

Go for a MIA approach. Aki-sensei is purposely speaking slowly and use an easy vocabulary to make us understand what he says and the particules's usages. Really, just try to understand like kids do and pause the video if you've a doubt on a word used.
