Todays walk is starting on Lundy’s Lane. We are exploring the sights as we walk down Lundy’s Lane and heading to the Clifton Hill District.
We walk the snow filled pathways at Oakes Garden Theatre and finish off with a view of the falls.

Always get the WEGO in the video! It's so perfect! I love the tavern and the little park there and the cemetery, so much history. Main St. and Ferry St. have so much potential. The Niagara Falls History Museum is definitely worth checking out. I remember going to that car wash when I was a kid with my dad and I always loved it. The dollar tree used to be a grocery store a LONG time ago. Evergreen Thrift is a pretty cool thrift shop.

Hi Christine, Thank you for sharing. Just caught the replay. Fascinating about the story about Laura Secord. I had no idea about her being buried in Chippewa. I learned something new there. Also, Lundys Lane and the war of 1812 and the souvenir shop there that had The Beatles and Rolling Stones memorabilia in the window. Need to check out when back in a couple of weeks. Christine, nice snowy walk along Lundy's Lane with the 1812 war commemorative museum. Along Ferry St and liked the snowman. Down the retro but fun Clifton Hill to the contrast of the wonderful park with it's stone cloisters and walls and the awesome Falls...still believe that bus to be yours. Best Wishes.

We enjoyed your slush though the snow, Christine. Such a balmy day too! 😁😁I wasn't aware that you had some 1812 battlefields up there, but I guess I probably learned about them in school. I did know many took place in New York. We don't really like staying in motels, but there's not much choice when traveling for short term stays. The one's here look a little more budget friendly than the one's closer to the Falls in the Clifton Hills. The Kings Inn looked decent. I love being able to pull up to an outside door to the rooms. Make's it easier to get our and my mothers things inside. Close to the best rated pizza and a buffet too! Always a great idea to visit Hooters with the kids on a Sunday! 🤣🤣We could stop for Cuban Cigars afterwards. It really looked like a beautiful winter wonderland as you approached the Falls! Gorgeous seeing the Falls too. Thanks for bringing us along.

I really enjoyed this walk Christine! Lundy's Lane/Ferry street is synonymous with my Niagara Falls visits. It was great you started the video with a view of the City of Niagara Falls watertower. I've looked at that watertower for decades. As a kid I remember seeing the watertower from the parking lot at the old Zeller's or when we went to the old Wendy's or the McDonalds. These days, I always go to Pizza Pizza at the corner of Lundy's Lane and Drummond. I go there late at night to pick up a pizza and take it back to my hotel for a late night snack. While the pizza is being made, I go outside to wait and end up looking at the water tower and think back to my childhood vacations in Niagara Falls. They have plans for a new water tower in the next year or so. I don't think they have determined whether they will put the new one in the same or different location. That Battle Ground Hotel Museum is a hidden gem. You should try to visit sometime when they are open. The battlefield to the side and behind is very nicely landscaped. The only problem is access. I have parked in the little driveway next to the museum but it is very tight and getting in and out can be difficult when traffic is heavy on Lundy's Lane. The city does have two small parking lots One is on Lundy's Lane and the other on Drummond. Both parking lots also have walking paths to the Drummond Hill Cemetary. That structure being torn down next to the Cadillac Motel was an old synagogue. I think it may have been the first or oldest synagogue in Niagara Falls. It was built in 1937 but there was an even older synagogue there before that. I was very surprised to see it was being torn down. I looked it up and the stained glass windows from the synagogue were saved and are now incorporated in a memorial at the Holocaust Memorial at Lundy's Lane Cemetary. Oakes Garden Theatre and park looked beautiful with all that freshly fallen snow. And finally, I loved the two snowpersons you made!! Great video! 🙂🤎

Hi Tom. I did read about the water tower that they are planning to replace it. I’m glad you have some memories of your visits nearby and watching the tower…I wonder if it will be in the same spot. I’ve been to that pizza pizza too. I have seen that battlefield museum driving by many times and never been inside. I now remember the synagogue that was being torn down …I walked by on my other video and looked at it. Good that they kept the stain glass and displayed it. That's right, now that you mention it, I do remember you walking by that synagogue in a past video. Pizza Pizza isn't the best pizza but that location is great because it is open until 2 or 3am and it's perfect to go to after my midnight walk or bike ride along the Falls. Plus you can get an extra large pizza for like $13. No pizza that cheap near Clifton Hill!

Very different looking with the snow. It was snowing so I suppose most of the sidewalks don't get shoveled except for a few retail places? Snow looked a few inches deep. The park had some footprints. The falls awesome. Thanks for the tour Christine👍

When I was kid, we went to the Falls a lot. And one of the attractions for the kids was of course, playing on the train tracks lol.
