Niagara Falls New York A Fun Exploring Walk And What My Experience Was Like Crossing The Border 2022

Welcome everyone. Today we take a visit to Niagara Falls, New York. I have not been to the states side walking around in a long time, so I decided to go sightseeing for the afternoon.
We start our walk walking across the Rainbow Bridge into the United States of America. We walk the streets enjoy looking at the many outdoor food trucks and shops. We then make our way to Niagara Falls State Park, which is a very beautiful nature park with many views of the Niagara River and views of the waterfalls.
One of the landscape designers of the state park is the famous Frederick Law Olmsted who is known for designing many parks Including Central Park in New York City. We walk the pathways and enjoy the scenery along the way making a few stops. We cross the bridge onto Goat island and walk until we reach the Horseshoe falls.
On the way back we head to the Observation Tower at Prospect Point where we take in stunning views of the American falls, Horseshoe falls (Canadian falls) and the Niagara River. This is where we end the walk but wait until I cross back over to Canada to find out how my experience was walking across the border. Try watching while wearing headphones or earbuds 🎧.

Christine, that gorgeous Art Deco building you've admired from the Canadian side (and, now, the U.S. side) of Niagara Falls is The Giacomo. It's popular and from its top flooe is a stupendous bird's eye view of Niagara Falls--Canada and U.S. Pronounced JOCK-o-mo. ... The beautiful hotel near The Giacomo is HOTEL NIAGARA -- where Marilyn Monroe had an opportunity to stay.

Awesome, Christine! After you return to Rainbow Blvd., please walk to Old Falls Street (one block). On Old Falls Street, in the opposite direction of the Seneca Niagara Casino, you will come upon SAVOR restaurant and SAVOR pâtisserie -- both are run by the Niagara Culinary Institute, and the waiters are culinary students. ALL of the meals are superb! Three- and four-course lunches and dinners are very inexpensive. The desserts offered in SAVOR's pâtisserie are scrumptious! ... Enjoy your walk, and we're enjoying strolling with you. 😃

I didn’t know that Marilyn Monroe had the opportunity to stay there. I’m sure the views are amazing that high. Now I know I’ve walked through the park before but it was a very long time ago. It’s so beautiful there on the states side. I really enjoyed myself.

While I prefer the Canadian side for panoramic views of all three falls and for the many, many fun activities and arts and restos, I never take for granted the natural beauty of Niagara Falls State Park. And, by the way, I always get an eerie feeling walking across the pedestrian bridge to (and from) Goat Island. Here's why: On my first trip to the park (in very late autumn, 2020), there was only one other person traversing that bridge -- a guy younger than I -- and so I was too afraid to ask him where Green Island was. I had crumpled (accidentally) the sketched park map that a really kind lady at my hotel's front desk gave me. Well, when my feet landed on Goat Island, I looked left and right and around me and got so spooked! I did an about-face so fast and ran back across the pedestrian bridge, slipping and sliding in several spots due to the light snowfall that morning (lol). When I reached the hotel lobby (Comfort Inn The Pointe -- excellent and underrated), I breathlessly told the kind front-desk lady that I couldn't find Green Island. "Darling," she said with a smile, "you can't walk on Green Island." I was dumbstruck. "It's inhabited by birds, not humans, because it's a tiny island in the rapids." We shared a long belly laugh. And the next day, I was sure to tread slowly and more carefully across the pedestrian bridge -- that's how I saw Green Island "beneath my feet." I stood there viewing the birds and envying their amazing vantage point. But on my two subsequent visits to the park, I got the shivers midway across the bridge despite there being way more people. Thank you for delighting our senses with this video. I really can't wait to return to Niagara Falls -- all of the international destination -- this fall. And, yes, I'll be reserving one lunch and one supper at Savor -- reservations can fill up quickly, so 🤞🏻. (You can reserve 45 days in advance at the earliest. The resto and pâtisserie aren't open every day, which makes it tricky to book too close to the day[s] one wants. For the restaurant -- Multicourse lunch: US$15; multicourse dinner: US$25. Portions are large, so the value is great! The pâtisserie is high-quality, too, and very affordable. Attire: casual Keep up the amazing videos, please. Like other subscribers, I'm learning SO much about Niagara Falls and the other beautiful cities in Ontario that your camera's eye has revealed to us. 👏👏🏼👏🏽

I can understand why you would have that feeling walking across the pedestrian bridge. It does look like it would get quite slippery if it snowed with it being a metal walkway. I would have been spooked too if there were no other people around. When I did walks during the pandemic and no one was around…it was a weird feeling. have not heard of Green Island before, did I pass by it? I didn’t notice any signs for it either. It's kind of a mall with souvenir shops, a good food court and restrooms. But everything is so expensive in there!

Hi and thanks, WeGoPlacesTours for sharing. Wow, I didn't know you can cross the bridge on foot. I see heavy car traffic, but how long did it take for you to go through US customs? Anyway, I think this image tells us all, the beauty of Niagara, a robust, elegant, energetic waterfall ---0;50. I guess that I may have to consider booking a boat ride online...??? Of course, Niagara is one of the most well-known tourist sites, therefore, everything costs higher, I figure. I found it very fascinating to learn "Money(currency) Talk." The green scenery is everywhere...Always appreciate your lovely stroll and I cannot wait to make a plan for Canada someday. Thank you for your warm welcome even though I was late. Hi. Your welcome. Yes you can walk across, it doesn’t take long maybe 3 minutes. Going through U.S customs was quick and easy the day I went it took me less than 5 minutes. One another day it could be different if there’s a lot of people crossing. If you want to do the boat ride if you visit you can buy tickets right at the entrance to the Maid of the Mist. I loved your tour of the American side. I live in Ohio and when we come to visit Niagara Falls we never go to the American side, so it was interesting to see. I’ll have to go check it out myself next time we visit.☺️

That domed shaped building is a turtle! It was originally built as a Native American cultural center, hence the turtle shape. Look up a view from the front where you can see the turtle shape!

NF NY had a very very large Sicilian (Italy), population in the past so you will recognize many Italian names. Today, it is interesting to see people from all over the world visit and you will notice all of the Indian food offered now that reflects how many visitors we get from India, in particular. As a local, I love to visit the tourist areas just to marvel at all the people!

Fabulous video ! I had to send a copy to my wife's mom and pop living in Ukraine ! You covered just about everything that i shared with my wife (my angel was from Kiev, Ukraine). Lost her to breast Cancer at age 45 Last year in Ukraine. She was living in the USA with me, when she went to visit Kiev to see her Family and the Cancer was already spreading but no one could l help her there and the Ruskies started the war ! There was no flights to Ukraine and she could not return to USA....she DIED and is buried there...we could not even say goodbye to each other.... :( :( THANK YOU !

Great video, this is exactly the trip we're planning to do :-) We crossed the Rainbow Bridge for a day a few years back, but didn't do the Observation Tower. We'll check it out this time for sure, the views are great! Did you have to still submit arrivecan even if you crossed just for a few hours?

Once on the observation deck, take the elevator down to the boat ride but instead of riding the boat, take advantage of the walk up to the edge of the falls, it’s free

@@WeGoPlacesTours,I am flying from Washington state and if I fly to New York it takes almost 6 hrs,but if I fly to Ontario it only takes like 2 hrs and a half and I think Canada side has more better view.I checked Toronto Pearson International airport is the closest. Yes the Canadian side has a great view and lots to do also. Interesting how one flight is so much longer than the other. Must be a stop I’m guessing. There’s also Hamilton airport but I don’t know which planes land there. Have a fun trip. 😊

I live in Niagara Falls N.Y and Niagara Falls N.Y is a dump. The roads have potholes. 80% of business are bordered up. Drug overdoses and murders are way up. Save your money and go somewhere safer and cleaner.
