Hi guys, I've seen a couple of your videos and really appreciate the content. I recall there was a favorite restaurant/resort of yours in San Juan del Sur that was $40 for lunch, dinner, and a shuttle to the beach - what was the name of that? And what travel agency on Nica helped you plan? I recalled y'all recommending one. Thanks!
@BucketListTravellers9 ай бұрын
Hi there @jamisoncrawford9868, we are so glad that we could help and showcase this underappreciated and misunderstood country. The San Juan Del Sur resort was TreeCasa. We did a video about it here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/d3fVnK2Ogq-Bg80 . All our planning about Nicaragua was our own, we didn't use any travel agencies. That said, we did go on one tour with Danny's Tours. He is based in Granada and covers tours across all of Nicaragua. We definitely recommend him.

Wow, 5 days is going to be a blur. We moved to Matagalpa on Feb 25 and we really enjoy it. We think we will stay for a year or two. We want to travel for 4-5 years from Mexico to Argentina….then 2-3 years all over SE Asia. Nicaragua is our first stop because it is my wife’s home country. Matagalpa is up in the mountains and one of the cooler cities but still hot.
@BucketListTravellers Жыл бұрын
Matagalpa is a great spot to live. Yeah, it cools down a bit in the evenings. What we also love about Matagalpa is the cafe scene, amazing coffee! Wow, you have quite an adventure ahead of you, that plan sounds amazing!

@@BucketListTravellers We are trying to find out where locals go for really good coffee. We are going to try some place called Selección Nicaragüense this week. If you think of other good places, please let us know. Love your videos !
@BucketListTravellers Жыл бұрын
@@therehastobesomethingmoore Thanks! Selection nicaraguense is not bad, we like the one closer to the Ruben Dario park. Our favourite was the cafe down the side street looking at the cathedral. It is on the opposite side to the park.
@therehastobesomethingmoore Жыл бұрын

What are safety concerns if any? I have fears of traveling out of country and I would really like to get over those.
@BucketListTravellers9 ай бұрын
Hi Sammantha, we did another video that answers your question, you can find it here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/q3LWZa18mr51e8k. The only thing you need to be careful about are 'crimes of opportunity' like pickpocketing or people stealing your mobile phone. Just be discreet, not flash wealth around and you will be fine. Nicaragua is such a great country to visit and we highly recommend it for seasoned travellers. If you haven't travelled abroad before, then Europe is probably an easier introduction to travel. Costa Rica is another alternative to Nicaragua, with more tourist infrstructure but it will be 3x more expensive.

Which border was much easier? San Pancho, Peñas Blancas or through the airport?
@BucketListTravellers9 ай бұрын
We only went through San Pancho and that was pretty easy in terms of getting through migration (we took public transport there from San Carlos). I wouldn't recommend driving a car through there as back in 2021 when we did it I'm not sure the roads were built yet! We just had to walk through and there was a bus on the Costa Rica side that took us to the nearest town.

I am for budget traveling w/ o sacrificing too much / health / quality of life !! Lol. I usually stay at budget hotels ,or mid range ,but no camping, or hostel with bunker beds ! Lol.And one thing I know for sure is putting too many itineraries/ plans in a day frame with tight schedules isn't great ! As we all should think about exhausion,illness,injuries & accident ( not just by us ,others on the roads ,trains, so on ) !! Besides,if it's too brief / hectic ,we'll not remember much ,or experience much at each stop = not really memorable trip that'll be !! I prefer staying at one place for a day ,or two at least & 3, 4 places to check on a day ,no more !! And off course they have to be in the range ,near to each other / accessible ,not stony hilly roads ,or difficult to reach ! Budget traveling is very nice ,but stressful ! It's gotta be realistic !! Lol. I watched two ,three videos of yours now ! Thank you for those videos of Nicaragua ! 🇳🇮 I love that cash based country about Nicragua !! And just learned from another channel there are lots of organic produces in Granada ,Nicaragua!! 👍😍💜🥁🐉🎤🎶✈️🇳🇮💕💞

Hi @spark_6710, it sounds like you travel like we do! We've also come to realise that planning too much when travelling just becomes too stressful and you may miss some awesome opportunities along the way. You should definitely visit Granada, we lived there for a year and it was great.You will get good value budget travelling without sacrificing amenities.

@BucketListTravellers Thank you ! I do budget traveling based on mid range hotels / excursions ( mostly free stuff or under $ 20 ,although I'll have to break my golden rules in places like Argentina as I'll want to visit Moreno glacier, etc .And I don't drive in foreign countries although I am an excellent driver ! Lol, as I am a very cautious person. ) What Nicragua attracts me are real fresh & local organic foods at very very affordable prices & I won't have to pay high prices to get to my destinations there like you said ! Thank you so much for your reply & videos of Nicragua !! 👍💜🥁🐉🎤🎶💞

May you tell us Nicaragua visa regime. We are Pakistan passport holders with USA valid multiple visa.
@BucketListTravellers6 ай бұрын
Hi @rafiuddinjunejo7635, for most countries/passports, Nicaragua will give you a 90 day visa and that visa will also be valid for Guatemala, Honduras and El Salvador. If you are flying into NIcaragua, I believe you get the visa on arrival.
