This was a year ago at the time of this reply. But for the sake of sharing and added info, you know sa ibang part ng Pilipinas, like Marinduque, my husband's province, I never hear the word tito/tiyo, tita/tita there. Instead, they are also refered as Kuya or Ate. I even seldom hear Lolo or Lola, rather, they are called Tatay, Itay or Ama, or Nanay, Inay or Ina. But I don't know if that's the same with rest of the said province. I've been only in Sta. Cruz, Torrijos and Mogpong. In Ilocos, it's Manong and Manang in liue of Ate and Kuya. And you will be surprised to know that they address their Titos and Titas as Uncle and Auntie, in a faster tone. Well, in other wealthy families, esp, those that came from abroad, they call their older siblings by just their names. So, it's a matter or cultural, and environmental differences.

in my opinion I think it is best for the government to take ownership of this historical landmark and preserve it into its original form to serve as a reminder to all how the republic has won its independence from the foreign occupiers with the sacrifice of one of our hero who was born and raise from this majestic house. of course people will be coming to tour the place and that is the whole purpose to showcase the birthplace of general luna, but with a careful guidance and a watchful eye from the caretakers, the place can be preserve and not to be further damage from those who were visiting and touring the place. while watching your video footage I can't help to imagine seeing general luna was looking out in one of the massive windows waving to the katipuneros while marching Infront of his house. Ang sa akin ay makipag ugnayan na lang sa mga may ari na sasagutin man lang ng LGU yung kaayusan kahit sa "labas" man lang nito para presentable namang tingnan kahit externally lang bilang pagbibigay pugay sa mga bayani natin. Kaya nga merong RA 10086 at binuo yung NHCP.

Right of First Refusal on the Sale of National Cultural Treasures, Important Cultural Properties, National Historical Landmarks, declared sites and structures. - The appropriate cultural agency shall be given the right of first refusal in the purchase of cultural property declared as national cultural treasures. Prior to the finality of the sale, the appropriate cultural agency may likewise match any offer made for the purchase of national cultural property. Section 14. Dealings of Cultural Property. - No cultural property shall be sold, resold, or taken out of the country without first securing a clearance from the cultural agency concerned, particularly the National Museum in the case of a Permit to Export .. In case the property shall be taken out of the country, it shall solely be for the purpose of scientific scrutiny or exhibit, repair, visual arts cleaning and restoration, except for those cultural property that are considered fine arts, works of National Artists other than for Architecture, and those works that have been produced by living Manlilikha ng Bayan awardees and artifacts, archeological, traditional and ethnographic materials classified as Grade III. Sale or Resale of Cultural Property- The sale or resale of a cultural property, subject to the right of first refusal in Section 12 hereof shall also require the following: 1. National Cultural Treasures shall not change ownership, except by inheritance or by sale duly approved by the concerned cultural agency; provided, however, that it may not be taken out of the country for reasons of inheritance or sale. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

He pointed to the information on the marker, which states that Luna’s home is at 843 Urbiztondo St. The house’s address, however, is 457 Urbiztondo St. According to Tan, 843 Urbiztondo St. is situated at what is now known as the City Plaza condominium. The Inquirer called up NHCP Executive Director Ludovico Badoy for comment but was told that he was in a closed-door meeting. A house in Binondo, Manila, believed to be the birthplace of revolutionary hero General Antonio Luna, is in a sad state. With its galvanized iron roof slowly being eaten away by rust and its capiz windows missing a few panels, the now-empty two-story structure used to serve as a storage area for sotanghon (bean thread noodles) and old furniture. In the hopes of seeing the house preserved and restored, the Manila city government has urged the National Historical Commission of the Philippines (NHCP) to buy the historic landmark on Urbiztondo Street.

Since nagpupunta dyan ang NHCP, I assume declared na nga sya as heritage site. Technically, under the law allowed sila for funding for conservation/restoration. I wonder why the owner hasn't pushed for restoration. Pwede naman sya magawa respectfully, may kamahalan pero if kaya nga pondohan hindi sya mapapabayan. I assume the owner doesn't have the funds to do heritage restoration/conservation because it's clearly falling apart compared to the Luna house in Badoc, Ilocos. As for "malilikot na kamay", they can actually put barricades similar to Casa Manila. Mukhang the private owner doesn't seem to want to prioritize its restoration.

Nadaan na kami minsan dyan, pero di ko alam na dyan pala ipinanganak si Gen. Antonio Luna. Sayang naman at napabayaan. Sana isa sa maging project ni incoming Mayor Honey Lacuna kung may pondo at pagkakataon eh mai restore, rehabilitate yung mga historical structures gaya ng mga bahay ng mga naging bayani natin. Maganda din kasing gawin na tourist attraction kapag may mga napapasyal sa Maynila. Manila is very rich in history kaya naa appreciate ko talaga na napupuntahan mo at nagagawan mo ng research yung history ng mga lugar na pinupuntahan mo sa Maynila. Maraming salamat uli. Aabangan ko yung sa Nakpil Bautista vlog mo. Congratulations and Happy Independence Day...

This saddens me, This is not how you treat what is supposed to be a Historical site. I've been to Juan Luna's birth home in Ilocos and it can be visited for public viewing because it is well kept and preserved. This is a far cry from that. I hope the local government of Manila can intervene and do something about it.

The city govt cant meddle because the caretaker said its privately owned. I heard him saying ex. Mayor lito atienza wasn't even allowed to enter the house. However the right side of the house with the trapal and the dog.. Seems to be a kind of " housing".. A, squatting area which we're afraid would damage the house even more. For a historical site... It's dirty but the owners should take the initiative to preserve it.. At least keep the façade free from obstacles like the bikes. Cartons.. Bottled water..etc...esp the trapal..

Should be renovated. If Im goin' to do the new look of it ? Just change the old materials that aren't that sturdy and durable anymore , retaining its old look will suffice for HISTORICAL PURPOSES. ♥️🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭.

Matibay yan kc puro narra kahoy na ginamit jan hindi kaya ng Anay tas adobe pinaka hollow blocks. Ganyan bahay ng lolo ng lolo ko gang ngayon buo pa may care taker din kc wala na gusto tumira. Sa Bagac Bataan madaming spanish house dun, binibili nila bahay at ina assemble nila dun sa bagac bataan resort. Madaming old houses dun.

Historic ako, ksi naabutan ko yung collapse ng Ruby Tower, pag concert ng The Beatles sa Rizal stadium, mga rallies dyan sa university belt.
