Awesome score for you. I got the green one late last year. And even new, I had no problem paying $329 for this thing from my LHS. On 2s it’s a blast. On 3s it’s an absolute wheelie machine! And man is it built tough. Enjoy it, I’m positive you will! And those foams are factory and so are the tires. Mine has the same. They’re awesome tires for this car. And one bit of advice, which you won’t need because I see like me, you use the spektrum smart batteries for your Arrma cars. But using aftermarket batteries in this thing will significantly shorten your drive time. My LHS had a young kid working when I bought mine. He recommended a power hobby 3s battery because it was nearly half the price of the spektrum battery. I trusted him, and every time I drove it, the car hit LVCO every time after only driving like 4-5 minutes! After serious investigation, I realized the battery was the problem. Bought the spektrum, and have never had that problem since.
@TandTRC9 күн бұрын
Good to know. I thought about the battery situation for a while but decided to stay with the Spektrum stuff for my Arrma cars. This thing is really sweet for sure. I would have definitely paid the full price.

You got a great deal on this, i had this exact truck in green and gave it to my buddy for his first rc as I found myself driving my senton blx more(just jumps so much better) but $190 is awesome and the cogging is normal from my experience with really all sensorless motors they cogg at low speed. Nice video and a great buy. One last note the chassis armor imho is just a waste of money these little chassis themselves are super durable and if you do ever break it parts are cheap and tinkering is all part of the hobby which i love. Keep the vids coming man really loving thse rc reviews.

Tools, this one is by far my favorite so far! That larger scale looks WAAAYYY more controllable, at least on camera. And it's gots many mo' power than the previous little monster truck on the ramps. I thought you was gonna completely send it all the way outta the skate park. When you get the shocks dialed in like that fantastic setup on my previous favorite that had just perfect suspension, you will be ready to make some 1/10th scale berms on your track!

Pull the center drive shaft out put you a driver in the splind shaft that goes to the trans ( dont remember the size driver) roll the truck tell the back tires lock and it's good to go 💪👍. Ive had my granite blx for 3yrs and it's a very tough RC. The cogging is normal, stock tires have foam. I went through 3 sets of the stock tire cuz they have a tendency to explode 😆🙄 switch to proline Badlands.

If you liked the granite, you'd love the big rock. Granites more for doing flips and air tricks from the short wheel base. The big rock is much more stable. I think the typhon would be even more stable but not sure how it catches air. The mojave and sentons seem to parachute because of the big bodies. All those 3sblx arrmas are fun though. My big rock is hitting 50-53 on 3s on your same wheel and tire setup. They all seem to vary from high 40s to low 50mph on the 3s blx. Plenty of speed for most neighborhoods.
@TandTRC10 күн бұрын
What about the Vorteks? I've actually been looking at preordering either the new 223s Vorteks or Typhon but can't decide.
@Fyxxterzc10 күн бұрын
@TandTRC good question. I'm a buggy guy so would lean more toward the typhon. But the vorteks seems like a good one. Truck wise though I lean hard toward the big rock. What's the vorteks wheelbase in comparison to the typhon and big rock? With the granite you already have the perfect basher and air trick version so skate park all day with that one. Would think the typhon would do best on your short course. Definitely could be wrong there though.

I’m not familiar with the “prebuilt” vehicles but in the build kits (Tamiya) I replace the bearings with a quality metal bearing. It gives you increased speed and life of the bearing. Let me know! Remember, “Happy Wife, Happy Life”. Translates into more gun and RC money. lol 😂

@ the front piece you can buy by itself for cheap. I think it’s just a few bucks, but I figured since it broke so easy they should warrant it so I went through the warm stage mainly for the principle.
@bigshoe84ify7 күн бұрын
I think the cogging at low speeds is due to it being a sensor less motor and esc. Sensored would be smoother but it’s used more in rock crawling type applications where precision is more important.

I hope it's more reliable than my son's (11yrs old). He worked for the last year saving all his money and bought his all by himself. He then could barely run it for more than a day without the motor burning up. Local HobbyTown was absolutely awesome, and worked on it constantly to figure out what was wrong. They couldn't find anything out of the ordinary with the electronics or anything. Went through 5 motors on it before I took everything out of it and replaced it with all Traxxas stuff that I had laying around. It now runs perfectly and has no problems.

That slap is no big deal. The chassis slap is kinda a safety feature. They're made to take it. Adding pre load really won't help. You still got the same spring rate and amount of travel. It'll just make it more bouncy on smaller hits usually. Spacers are only useful for adjusting ride height it seems to me.
