"Adventure cyclists looking to take their gravel riding to the next level will find their match with Mavic's Allroad S wheels. With their cutting-edge technology and signature Mavic design, these lightweight, durable wheels are ideal for tackling all types of terrain, from rough gravel roads to windy singletrack, and everything in between." - mavic.com
"The Allroad S wheels' 25mm wide UST hookless rims creates a smooth ride, whatever the type of terrain or condition of the surface. They are compatible with a wide range of tires, from 30 to 64mm, so you can adapt their style to suit your personal preferences, or whatever your ride calls for."
In this video, a quick look at the standout features of the Mavic Allroad S, a wheelset launched late in 2023.

I put a set of these in my gravel bike last year - nothing but good things to say about these - excellent ride quality, robust and easy to service hubs. Tubeless performance is excellent - tyre fitment is easy, tyres seal well and lose pressure less than taped rims.

Amazing… I remember a day when, MAVIC was the complete benchmark for wheels! You had others like Wolber ( remember them?).. but MAVIC was streets ahead in innovation. Nice to see they still pushing boundaries in an almost over saturated spinning market.

And that beautiful 631 Starfish Crankset, and completely rebuildable derailleurs.

Hope they are made better than the older hooked once, it came on a bike of me but where the rim was welded together was so badly done I couldn't seal it.

Which tire and size do you plan on testing these with? Sounds like the 25IW would be a great match to some 40c tires.

Hope the spokes are better than in the past. I've had (and still have) Mavic alloy wheels and the spokes keep rusting over and over again. Also, the proprietary spokes are a nuisance.

I think more annoying are the proprietary nipples.

I thought the Mavic groupset was Mektronic or was that a later version?

@@GravelCyclist get a set and try it out 🤣I've seen other cheap carbon wheel reviews and the wheels did pretty good on some pretty chunky stuff.

Don't see myself forking $530 on bollocks, noting personal. Life's too short to ride cheap $hit carbon wheels, or drive boring cars.

Review coming later, keep the pressure lower if you're thinking of roadie 32mm tyres, etc.

Low pressure, hookless like MTBs have used for years…

@@dominicbritt Remember, a lot of roadie types have a tough time accepting low pressure as viable, especially on a hookless rim. Talking about 45ish psi with 700c x 32mm, sublime ride.

I don’t know, maybe I’m getting older and more suspicious of changes in cycling, like some people were when disc brakes came to road and cyclocross :). Also, I personally witnessed a guy in front of me lose some pressure and sealant (burped apparently) on a tight turn while riding hookless ZIPPs. Luckily, the tire didn’t come off completely, and he was even able to finish the ride on a half deflated tire. Considering that Mavic has been in the business for so many years, I hope they know what they are doing.
