dont have any sound or build in speaker. just a LED light indicator. to hear the recording u can copy the file to ur mobile or pc to playback and listen.

Does this need to have the SD card formatted in a specific format? FAT32? I recorded samples and nothing shows up.

yes you need to format the SD Card before use. Use a windows pc to format it. It can support up to 32Gb Max Micro SD Card only. But i heard people using it with a 64Gb but i am not sure it can work or not. if still having same problem, the recorder is most likely defective. Get a replacement or refund from your seller. If the SD card is fake, is there a chance that the recorder will not work? I've been trying that like forever, and when I open the USB drive, there's no recording and a lot of corrupted unknown files.

You can format the card first or try other brands of card. Best not to use more than 32gb cards

@@nice2tradez56 ...I also tested 2 models, with SD cards from Samsung, SanDisk and PNY, but both cards larger than 8 GB are not supported... for the one that I thought was FAKE, the manual says up to 8GB, while the others go up to 128GB, even though the electronics are the same, the R/W speeds are almost the same. the problem is that the audio file is recorded in one piece, only one audio channel., while the index files SND000XX.mp3 of 90 kB are created in the Recode folder, which are only noise or markers of the an audio program for the processing of audio records, which is not attached or described anywhere. for better sound, you can still drill a hole at the height of the microphone (2 or 3 mm lower than the led indicator). the sound quality is: General Complete name : F:\RECODE\REC0017.MP3 Format: MPEG Audio File size: 28.0 MiB Duration: 1 h 9 min Overall bit rate mode : Constant Overall bit rate: 56.0 kb/s Audio Format: MPEG Audio Format version: Version 2 Profile format: Layer 2 Duration: 1 h 9 min Bit rate mode : Constant Bit rate: 56.0 kb/s Channel(s) : 1 channel Sampling rate: 16.0 kHz Frame rate: 13.889 FPS (1152 SPF) Compression mode: Lossy Stream size : 28.0 MiB (100%)

It's ok, When you start the recording, the recorder will generate a new text file.

the files that is in the card wont be deleated. The recordings will be in a seperate folder. You can use it like a thumdrive.
