There’s something so endearing about Nicholas. Also, all the effort that went into the practical effects for this movie are beyond impressive. This movie is a masterpiece.

I haven’t heard anyone else talk about it, but I love the long take in the movie when Thomas first meets the Gypsies; the camera perfectly encapsulates the feelings of exhaustion, confusion, fear, and overwhelm of Thomas

The whole part of him travelling to the castle and meeting the count, so the whole first part of the movie, was straight up a masterpiece.

I like how Nicholas reminds and sets up stories for Robert who has all the knowledge, but Nicholas is able to bring it out of him. He also seems more comfortable having a conversation with someone then explain to a camera.

Fun fact: Don't know if it's still the case but circa 2003 Wendy's Frosties were actually mostly frozen potato flakes. They have the same consistency of snow/ice but is way cheaper, melts slower, and you can't really taste the difference when it's done as a 'milkshake' Source: Worked at a Wendy's in high school.
