I remember hearing this song when it originally aired and loved the song and his voice. All these years later, I am watching all of the episodes again and just had to find out WHO actually sang this song. Found him! Awesome!

I remember I heard him singing very briefly in The Commish. It was a Christmas episode and some guy tried to rob the commisioner and got arrested. He had said "Merry Christmas you gink" to the comish, so the comish had his cops (including Nick Lea's character) sing a little song to the guy. "We're glad that you found your way here, we hope you enjoy your stay here, you did wrong and now you'll pay here. Merry Christmas you gink". Nick's voice was very deep in that one.

Met him at the London Film and Comic Con on Sun, and he told me about this episode. He wrote the song as well. :) I also sing and Nick now has a DVD of a gig I did for UNICEF for The House of David Duchovny website. (Mitch Pileggi also has a copy (another one who has a passion for singing!) - and I gave David a copy in New York in Nov 2010. :)

In all honesty I had never heard him sing before. I know that most movie/tv singing is lip synched but in this case his voice seemed really different from his "speaking" voice and "singing" voice. But then again, even professional, legit singers don't sound as good live as their recordings since so much mixing and post-production goes on these days.

Is that even his voice? It sounds like when he's done talking somebody popped in a tape and he started mouthing the words. I mean, the voices sound that different and he's out of sync.
