I’ve been a bit obsessed with House of the Dragon, for the characters and lore but also the level of craft in the directing, cinematography, and music. Of course, love to see the cello playing such a prominent role in the soundtrack for one of my favourite shows! 🐲

Haha the show is more of a slow burn (which I love) than the trailers make it seem. The last episode has an entire scene that's just slow cello music and no dialogue.

I actually arranged this piece based more off of pieces from the original Game of Thrones show, but of course the same theme makes an appearance in House of the Dragon since it's based around the Targaryen family. I think the score for House of the Dragon is a bit slower and more atmospheric than Game of Thrones! Still the same opening theme though 😅

I think the themes stand out more in Game of Thrones because the story spans across the world, and you connect distinct music with different settings. Most of House of the Dragon takes place in similar regions, but it still uses the music to shape the dramatic atmosphere and highlight important character moments. I was definitely hoping it would have a different theme song from Game of Thrones though!

Im loving this so so much. This is going in my playlist of music for reading fire and blood. If youve never tried listening with mysic i recommend it! You can reread the same scenes with different music and it has completely different toning in your mental image! ❤
