Questions to Ask Before a Purchase 1. Will it get used? 2. Is there a more affordable option? 3. Does it replace something I already own? 4. Can I pay for this right now? With money I have now? 5. Do I see the end of this items' lifespan? 6. Is this for me, or to impress somebody? 7. Is this a phase? 8. What's my bigger goal?

The phase point is so relevant to me right now. I would look at KZbin videos of other minimalists, and I would find myself purchasing items similar to what they had. I always ended up trying to sell the items or give them away. In a way I've lost authentication, and now I'm learning to discover what is it that makes me unique.

This was a great video!! Even as someone who considers herself a minimalist already, I took quite a lot away from this! I look forward to seeing more of your content.

Many times the idea of having something is more attractive than actually owning it. Can use this questioning to short circuit that behavior. Thank you.

This was excellent! Great list of questions that any of us can utilize the next time we purchase something. I definitely purchased way too much to impress others. Love the transparency in your videos! You’re putting a lot of great quality out. And never feel sorry for using your Iceland footage! It’s always welcomed :)

Could not agree more. Credit cards are dangerous. Interesting fact that I learnt during my studies; 1/3 of Europe's (the continent!) credit card debt belongs to consumers from the UK. Consumer societies like the UK and the US make credit too easily available providing a false illusion of spending power. Lot of people take advantage of this mindlessly and ending up living on credit for a long period of time. Or forever using credit to pay off credit and so on...

The phase one definitely sticks to me a lot. I’ve gone through many and bought things during the phase which I don’t use as much. I don’t regret buying things during those times because it was worth the entertainment value I got out of such items

I enjoyed hearing more of your thoughts through this new format! Really appreciated the reminder that you can most often get on with life just fine without buying this or that new item; you made a good point in the importance of asking yourself “am I just using it now because I already own it”. 👍🏼👍🏼

Great video! It is so much better to live below your means. Life always throws curve balls so it is better to be prepared. Alot of times we buy things because we see others with it. not that we actually need it.

My advice is stay focused on the long term goals. You want your future self to thank your past self. With new trends I always try to keep this in mind - people buy shit, to impress people that don’t even care about them. Good video. Keep up the good work. Glad I found this channel.

Talking about watches as an essential wrist accessory i definately have always gone with that. I know you're not definately saying that..but to me, its like wearing a trouser belt. I feel dressed and together. And with just a flick of the wrist you can tell the time. Rather than fumbling about with your fone in daylight etc. I currently have a respectable looking brown strapped white dial. It works fine, the cost is less than mid-range. My beloved watch ran outa battery JUST when the pandemic hit. I still can't find anywhere online that sells a good deal for that battery. The price went thru the roof. Nevermind. Just think wrist watches look great. Defo good for your confidence. 👍💥😎🌱
