Yeah, I can see why a passer-by would assume that's just a lame excuse. But it can *sometimes* happens that you only realize you forgot to grab one after you're already out the door. And dogs find it confusing when you go home again and then outside again, at least my brother's dog does. So I can see taking a gamble on the dog not pooping again if they just pooped 20 mins ago, with the downside being that you're going to have to come back with a bag and pick it up. (But OTOH, it's not rare for my brother's dog to poop multiple times in one walk, so I wouldn't go far from home in this situation, if I couldn't find some alternative in a pocket, like a disposable face mask when this happened to me over the holidays.)

Can’t tell if this is a joke or you’re talking about something else in the video, but thinking of the perfect reply after the time has passed to say it is “l'esprit de l'escalier” which is “spirit of the stairway” 🥰 Schadenfreude is a feeling of satisfaction you get when you see someone of a higher social status or that you admire fail, or suffer. Tends to come with a sense of irony, like when a supermodel gets fat or a billionaire goes broke.
