For my personal taste punk took a dive 10 yrs ago. I still listen to what i already did and find diamonds once in a while but i've had to become quite eclectic over the last decade to make my daily musical intake quota.

A victrola spins a record The needle plays our song On a summer night like this, The band played and drove on I'm all alone, in this world. A typewriter in my mind Writes our story in the air Pages they all vanish, Like the moments that we shared I'm all alone, in this world. All alone (all alone) In this world All alone (all alone) In this world Oh where oh where's my little girl? A tattoo of indian ink Spells her name upon my arm F-o-r-e-v-e-r Her love was here but now it's gone I'm all alone, in this world There's a train a-comin' And there aint much to pack I'm leavin this place tonight And I'm never comin back I'm all alone, in this world

i think a big difference in pop country today and the real country style like this was that back in the day, country artists were troubled souls, and sang songs about it.

"Nick 13" has the words, the rhythm, & smooth as silk but gritty delivery of heart thumping, pulse ebbing beauty of the words that conjure & create, to instill a sense of collective consciousness in every listener who has ever had a lonely night remembering that "One" who was so much for so brief, too brief, a time. The guitar work knells from Les Paul & others before, when tinny radio & saloon stops were at a time when you could buy a bucket of beer for a dime, get that just right tilt to the brim of your fedora, or finish the last drag on a Lucky Strike before flicking it & thinking of the last ember-like star you made a wish on, thinking of that one who got away.

It's never been that I disliked country. I just didn't like the singing & thought the quality of song lyrics was rather weak. Nick 13 changed that for me. I don't care how you label it really. The man makes damn good music.

Randoodle lee You do realize there are at least two brands of country music and the one Nick reps is the Merle Haggard/ Bakersfield type while the played out brand everybody seems to hate on is the type from the American Southeast. Admittedly that one is the worst.
