This is a wonderful rendition of a popular song. The uniqueness of this rendition is the Western and Eastern combination: Chinese singers of Western song, Chinese and Western instruments. It shows East and West can meet. Shout out to the young man whose guitar is almost as big as he is, but he handled it well!

I am from east of Amarillo and have heard this my entire life, and this is an excellent rendition of this classic that stays true to its rural roots with its instrumentation and tone. I love it and I would think that it would be welcome at any West Texas Rodeo or Bob Wills concert in Turkey, TX.

Right? It really is soothing, love that description. It’s called an ErHu, literally means ‘Er’ or ‘two’ and ‘Hu’ or ‘string’ in Mandarin Chinese! I was able to visit mainland China in 2012 and got to see it played along with other instruments live in a local band on the street, it was so cool.

A high lonesome sound indeed. That erhu (pronounced err + who) just belongs in bluegrass and country. Beautiful complement to the fiddle. It gives and fills something that the fiddle doesn't.

Hats off to five talented musicians! A great sound…true and pure. I particularly liked the camera attention to each as they played. Very competent and focused. Where a violin or fiddle is played in other covers, the erhu really evokes the emotion…clear, haunting at times. Thank you for posting this. I’ve listened to it 5 times since finding it an hour ago.

It was a pleasant surprise when I discovered your Bluegrass rendition of "Amarillo By Morning". I've listened to it probably more than a hundred times. Ms. Jing's performance on the Erhu is very good, performing on a traditional Chinese instrument blends in nicely with the overall performance. I love your Banjo picking too. It sounds awesome & inspiring. I lived in Amarillo, TX for five years & "Amarillo By Morning" is their adopted theme song for the city. I've always liked that song & listening to your Bluegrass performance just adds to the my love for that tune. Thanks so much. Hopefully your group will continue performing country & traditional Bluegrass music in the near future.

What a great band. Eric has a great, but non-traditional voice for bluegrass. The single string player is absolutely amazing. Her solo was terrific. I am a long-time Bluegrass guy and I listen to lots of band for a minute and move on in YT. Not the case with Amarillo By Morning. Heard every note. Look forward to listening to more from this group.
