Hello! Welcome to "Nick"!
It's a Christmas movie I wrote a while back. When I wrote it, it was fairly unique in the "violent Santa" genre. But then a few movies were announced about violent Santas, starring the guys I wanted to cast in my movie, which was FINE IT WAS FINE. I don't need David Harbor or J.K. Simmons; I have Nick Offerman! (This is low key just a long-term plan so my wife and I can play board games with Offerman and his wife Megan Mullally).
Jokes aside, this is my pitch to get this movie made. In the video I act like I expect it to be a Hollywood movie, but I'm not delusional, honestly I just want to make this in some way. So if you make media (film, series, graphic novel, whatever) and would like to do something with this story, hit me up on Twitter @ron_mckenzie_. I've hit my limits with this video, and once you've seen it, you'll recognize that my limits are not very good, so I need help! That said... I'd REALLY love to make it with Nick Offerman. I just think he'd be perfect.
I think it's a fun story. A couple annoying plotholes which I realized too late, but that's what rewrites are for! This is just a general overview of the story, though I get into the details of a few scenes.
Note: I used AI art and AI animation to make this video a bit less boring. I have a version of this that's just me acting along with it, but when you see the parts I left in, you'll recognize why I needed to make the video more interesting. Yikes.
That said, the animation is... FAR from perfect. In some cases very far. The problem is, I make the images separately and then animate them, so sometimes I'll spend hours making an image look right, only for the damn animation software to SCREW IT ALL UP! (Lookin' at you, 3 Santas) So yeah. Some clips look very rough. But they give you the general gist and make it a bit better than looking at my ugly mug miming for 45 minutes.
Okay I need to stop rambling. I hope you enjoy. And I hope I don't get too much hate for using AI. I know a lot of people have a knee-jerk reaction to it, but I'm not trying to take anyone's job here, but rather trying to CREATE jobs. Namely for me. Because I want to make this movie dangit!
My dream castings right now are:
Nick/Santa - Nick Offerman
Kringle - Danny Woodburn
Mrs. Claus - Charlize Theron (or Megan Mullally, but I see her more as a particular character in the sequel)
The rest are up in the air. Nobody really sprung to mind and it became too much work to try to get the characters to resemble their actor lol. Plus I'm a little worried people will be offended because the characters kinda look like them. I'm actually stressing out a lot about that right now, but at this point it's too late to change it. Fingers crossed.
Anyway, uh... let's make it! Christmas 2025 baby! Wooo! Yeah! Uh... Yeah! Yes. Uh huh! Think of how great a story this would be! #Viral amirite? Am... amirite...?
