It’s crazy to rewatch all of these episodes after reading Jessica’s book “Open Book”. Whether it’s because I’m older now or because we’ve learned to see through the producer driven story lines because of all of the “reality” shows out there, it’s so obvious that they were putting up a front for the cameras. By this point, their marriage was pretty much over but neither wanted to admit it, so they put on the show everyone wanted to see with the characters they had created. “Newlyweds” paved the road for the brand new type of entertainment: Reality Shows. Nick and Jessica were the very first couple to experience the Reality Show Curse.

Newlyweds and The Osbournes were some of the first of this kind of reality show. Then the simple life came after. Then everything reality exploded from there.

I was (and still are) addicted to this show... "Oh my gahhh", that's where I got it from! LOL Love it when Jess says to Nick: "We don't have to go skying if you don't want... I don't want you to get frustrated. Last thing we need is for you to break your neck or somethin'" ... Nick: "Then I wouldn't be frustrated if I broke my neck, I'd be dead!" LOL hahahah These two were the best together!!! ♥

Because she's almost always silly. I think people underestimate Drew a lot. He's intelligent. A person can see that if they're paying close attention. I like Drew more than Nick, actually, despite that he's shorter. (Height is a *thing* with me, I don't understand why, just a personal trait I like.)

I cracked up!! Do yourself a favor and rewatch 3 mins and 30 seconds on, at the end when she slurs “I seriously feel like I’m unna go scuba diving” while Nick repeatedly asks, is it good? Is it good? She is so authentically herself w her hair sticking up, no make up, young love, being goofy and having fun. I really love her spirit, she was so much more than the pretty girl.

I wonder if Nick is psychologically aware that yes, he was attracted to what she looked like, but was also attracted to her child-like comments and viewpoints. And I wonder if Jessica is aware that she makes child-like commentary because she actually likes comedy and the feedback of her friends and family laughing at her silliness and innocence. She's just so sweet and likable. That's why people defend her (people have wondered why, when she's the one who left Nick, which was wrong in my religious beliefs, but...).

Nick had a pretty misogynistic attitude. He would naturally be attracted to a beautiful bombshell with child-like tendencies. I don't think Jessica is dumb, by any means, I do think Nick wanted to control her however and it became too much for her. It would for anyone. It's like living in a prison cell. I would leave as well.

Also, she would subtly say things just to instigate making Jessica look bad, was the first person to jump on the bandwagon every time Jessica had one of her oops moments.
