Many people comment on her speech. And, fair enough, she could be taking some type of anti-anxiety medication yet, at the same time, she’s sharing the most intimate details of her past and of her life in general. I find, that (now in my later years), I intentionally slow down my speech. I have an internal dialogue happening, and I make a conscientious effort to say exactly what I mean, and to present it in a way that stays true to my character and what I represent in my life and in my career. Does that make sense? Her speech could, quite possibly, be a mixture of both of these factors. I find her to be honest, endearing, and very relatable. 🇨🇦💕

Agree- I’m from the south and I’ve heard myself in videos and I tend to turn words or draw out certain words when I’m talking- I got adult braces and it’s really bad now haaa- she seems completely clear headed and funny, could be her teeth position or shifting or Invisalign’s - I completely agree - she seems sober and adorable.

Allie molina I did too! I stopped after a few weeks. I rather not rely on meds and I learned to find myself. I still get anxiety but it’s not as bad. That’s just me though. I understand some do need meds but it wasn’t for me.

I self medicated my anxiety for years with alcohol. I have the most horrible anxiety and other issues. Many of us do and I still really struggle but no longer quite like I did! I love Jess and appreciate her sharing

When it comes to how she’s talking, many things can factor in. She may be nervous, she may be on an ativan or something to calm her. She may have effects from years of diet pills and drinking. I think she sounds like she’s trying to make sure she speaks clearly and slowly. I know for myself I have had major medical problems and I forget things sooo bad and people probably think I am dumb or slow but I’m not I have had strong chemotherapy that has affected my thinking permanently. I have read this amazing book and I have so much in common with Jess as far as the relationships and parent divorce, etc! Love you Jess! 🥰

It’s her speech pattern affected by her anxiety. For example around 54 secs she’s talking real slow and slurred and heavily gauging the interviewers facial responses, around 1:21 she starts to gain confidence as they nod along and her speech improves she then begins to slur shortly after but her speech clearly soars as she eases and becomes confident or passionate about what she has to share. I can attest that Anxiety does messes with your speech. The more you want to sound cohesive the more you start overthinking, and it's your tone, your choice of words, enunciation and so on. It puts so much stress on you just by having a simple conversation because you don't want to sound dumb.

Let's state the fact that Alcohol is NOT "just Alcohol" and one who is an addict is an addict. Period. So no matter their DOC, it does not make someone bad who has a DOC that are drugs. We need to end the stigma of Addiction overall and we need to understand that Alcohol IS a DRUG.

It’s well known that she did use cocaine heavily, I wish she had been honest about that. It helped her energy level when she was working her tail off, and it helped her keep her weight down and party with the Jack add crew and her husband for a while. And that’s ok. Idk why cocaine is the “worst thing” a celeb can admit to but there are celebs who openly have raped, abused, killed in OJ’s case, drugged and assaulted woman for 40 years like Cosby, etc. so many female entertainers are told to take. Adderall to stay thin, in the early 2000’s it was so out of control every female weighed 80 pounds.

I’ve watched Jessica throughout her career and I do mean I’ve seen nearly everything she’s done. In my opinion her speech is different. People mature though and they do pick up a lot of traits habits and styles over the years. I like her regardless of anything because we’ve all had our share of turmoil pain suffering loss and betrayal. Jessica just has a very good energy. She always has. I wish her every happiness and above all genuine peace and hope she can stay on track. Something does seem off though.

I think it's way too much filler in her face, Botox and lips injections... My mother began slurring words and talking the same way when she started injecting too much crap in her face, years ago. Jessica's "paralyzed-looking" mouth is exactly identical to my mother's. If she lays off the injections, her mouth will go back to normal. She's too young and beautiful to have messed with her naturally GORGEOUS self.

Luba Zak No, that’s a lie. I have watched videos of her being completely articulate in the past, and before she created that dumb blonde persona. Now, she’s in this place of post alcoholism, and her voice sounds extremely slow, slurred and off. Besides, people observing and giving their opinion isn’t bad, she has put herself out there. But, it’s clear she’s being honest about her experiences. Wishing her luck.

I believe she’s probably on anxiety meds of some sort. Pills Deff have that affect on you. My sister struggled with addiction and coming out of it her voice has completely changed. It’s Deff messed something up... so I think it’s a combination of past abuse and some sort of prescription now.

I took Xanax for two weeks a very long time ago and even before several people commented on how slurred my speech was I noticed it myself. I was taking half my recommended dose and it was really shocking how listless it made me. I sounded drunk or very sleepy. It just wasn’t for me. I’m sure for her if she’s been prescribed medication it would be preferable to being drunk now but it’s another poison on its own and can be debilitating. Anxiety can be very tough to cope with though. It takes a lot of time and patience to be able to adjust to getting through stress a little at a time without any chemical support. I’m thankful I’ve never used it again but I know for some it’s very difficult not to lean on something. I just honestly hope she’s ok. We can sometimes minimize the effects of addiction if someone “looks” ok but each time they justify indulging, it can mean a very serious or even deadly downward spiral.
