Nick Blaine (+June) - Out of the Darkness

i'm not gonna lie , this vid wasn't easy to make at all. Because Nick doesn't share his thoughts with us like June does. He also doesn't show his emotions very often because he mustn't . But i can tell what he feels. Max delivers every scene! I really wanted to show here the whole Nick's universe not only his relationships with June. He lives in Gilead as a prisoner having to obey its rules but kinda feels a part of it and maybe a little bit responsible because he saw it growing from the start. We don't know much about what he has been doing all these years except driving the commander around and supposedly condemning some bastards for breaking the law they made themselves.He's never ever shown misogynistic behaviour or attitude , he's so compassionate for every woman in gilead . He genuinely tries to help everyone. He is so hearbroken she doesn't belong to him neither inside Gilead because he can't be with her like ever nor outside it because she's married. He has to watch his woman being mistreated , abused, raped. and he's seen women giving up and he's so worried June will not make it in this hell. He can't do anything about it, he can't help her. i believe he might even sacrifice himself for June and his daughter but June really will lose it without him and he knows it, he's the only one she has. This season Nick was raped as well in some way. Like give this guy a break. I like that two seasons in a row end with Nick making a move to save June.

wow, you really get it! love love love this, nick is one of my favorite characters on this show and max's layered performance is the most underrated things about this show. he's really one of the only significant examples of how fucked up this society is as a whole, not just to women. and i love that you addressed his complicitness and his inevitable guilt about that, he failed june and he failed eden and he's now realizing that and coming "out of the darkness". wonderful, love this so much.

When I saw you uploaded a video about Nick I got really excited cause I love him and I knew your video would be awesome and I was not disappointed! You showed perfectly how Nick is a victim of Gilead himself, how while of course the women have it worse for several reasons, he also has had to endure so much from the sidelines, always suffering and feeling powerless and guilty for not being able to do anything, but never caring about himself, only for others (June in particular of course). He’s so kind and selfless and he deserves better. Thank you so much for sharing this beautiful video with us, and congrats on the subscribers! 😊

Wow...this is so amazing! I'm so fascinated by Nick. He is such an interesting, strong and complex character. He is not a saint, that's for sure. And it's obvious that he did some terrible things in the past to be in the place he is now and to survive in Gilead. He really comes "out of the darkness". But he is still a good, kind and compassionate person (unlike other people in Gilead) and I think he feels guilty for what he did. Although he has to hide and surpress his emotions you can read so much from his eyes. And Nick is so soft and selfless, when it comes to June....what he does for her, what he risks for her (his self-control is also gone, btw:D)...this is true love and it is so beautiful to watch. Sorry, for the long comment but I had to say it. :D I love this man so much and you have captured him just perfectly in your video.Thank you so much for making this! :)

I love this and I love what you wrote about Nick! Sums it up so well! I have never felt so connected and heartbroken about a show. I think I cried for every episode in season 2. I don't think there will ever be a happy ending for them and it's so incredibly sad. Thank you for making this masterpiece. Nick deserves it.
