Never knew a more intense performer. How he and the band can skip from calm to chaos in a split second is remarkable.

I reviewed this glastonbury appearance at the time. Every year Nick Cave plays festivals where there are crowds present who are unsure of his work,, they end up open mouthed and almost startled by what they have witnessed! Long live the prince of darkness.

Maybe everyone complaining about the singing in this live video dubbed from whoever's faded old VHS taped copy of this of an obviously drunk Nick Cave might do good to actually listen to the studio version on the album 'Let Love In', then make a judgement on his singing voice.

Can't understand how people say metallicas version is awfull, but I guess that's the result of fanboys. Think they're both great. It's a really well composed song! For me, the nick cave version has a lot more frustration within it, while metallica gives me a strong feeling of supressed anger

@Broccoli_Highkicks13 жыл бұрын
@Skurvfjes Metallica don't seem to think Nick sucks... As for not logical, you fail at grasping the intent of the song. Pay attention to the lyrics and maybe you'll figure out why Nick sings it the way he does. He's not just singing, he's voice acting. Something that Hetfield will never be able to do. And yes, I am a Metallica fan. And most songs on Garage, Inc. are NOT as good as the originals. Stop being a fan-boy, open your mind to other music styles, and maybe you'll figure it out.

Well of course the original will be better, but your statement is still so ignorant. Metallica put their cover of this song on Garage, inc. which was solely a cover album to pay tribute to their favorite musicians. They weren't trying to out do anyone.
