Nick Cave is just awesome. He combines art with music. There is so much emotion and life within his voice.

I love Nick Cave... his life has been tinged with tragedy. Lyrically I think he is exceptionally poetic. Murder Ballads is an exceptional album and one should you check out! :)

The bearded guy is Warren Ellis, brilliant in his own right. Plays violin for the Bad Seeds and has a band in his own right..The Dirty Three.

Nick Cave has so much deep and meaningful songs covering most genres. Should definitely do some of his hits including "Where the wild roses grow", the song with Kylie.

Nick Cave and P.J Harveys song Henry Lee is one of my all time fav songs.... it´s been with me all my life and even if I forget it for a year or two I always come back to it sooner or later.

Nick Cave "Weeping Song" is excellent. He comes from a small dusty town in Victoria, Australia called Warracknabeal. It's only got a plaque recognizing their most famous son.

He's incredible to see live. I highly recommend doing that. Feels like a religious experience every time. I'll be seeing him again in April.

I really liked that. I agree with you Ginger on his voice. When he is on, though, he is brilliant.

You should listen to Cave's "Hollywood". A true Masterpiece.

Wow - you've never really listened to Nick Cave? He's got lots of good stuff and indeed a gold mine. He's a dark poet and truly deep and emotional performer, and thus has much more going for him than his voice. Where the Wild Roses Grow with Kylie Minogue is perhaps the most well known by mainstream, but he's got tons of other good stuff, ranging from dark and hard to soft and beautiful. For the soft and beautiful side, listen to e.g. Distant Sky (live in Copenhagen recommended) or Into My Arms. For something stronger, try e.g. Jubelee Street live in Copenhagen or Red Right Hand. For something in between, e.g. The Good Son, The Weeping Song, , Fifteen Feet of Pure White Snow or Girl in Amber, or Papa Won't Leave You Henry (the version from the album Idiot Prayer). For really offensive stuff, give Stagger Lee - again preferrably live (and why not in Copenhagen again). And the list goes on and on... :-)

Hey, here’s a suggestion. Do you know about the side project he had a while ago, Grinderman? Try No Pussy Blues (Live on Later version). I think it’s a song about a man who has lost his pet cat and is now feeling sad and lonely. Given some of the stuff you’re watched recently, you can’t possibly object

The studio version of this is on my ‘favorites’ playlist, fun hearing it live. I first heard Nick Cave (and the Bad Seeds) on the Scream soundtrack... “Red Right Hand.” The Kylie Minogue collaboration is “Where the Wild Roses Grow”, I believe? Great suggestion.

Try O'Children; I Sat Sadly By Her Side; Darker By The Day; and Distant Sky- live in Copenhagen.

Next suggestion, now from him Where the wild roses grow with Kylie Minogue. To combine in one video with the Nightwish songs A Rose for the Dead and While your lips are still Red (Marko Hietala and Floor Jansen singing).

That was really beautiful... but to be honest, I would recommend his duet with Kylie Minogue "Where the wild roses grow"... probably his most beautiful song... in my opinion. Best wishes : Gerry PS : I wrote you a message on patreon, with another request.... this time something completely different than Aurora. ;-)

The comparison with Leonard Cohen is apt. Nick Cave is a dark, lyrical genius, and Murder Ballads is a must, but beware- it's exactly what it says on the can, so if you're squeamish...

If you want to listen more to Nick Cave, I think you should listen to the opening act of the 2013 tour, Jubilee Street. It's the best opening of consert I have ever heard. kzbin.info/www/bejne/q6PaqnV8faycd7c

This was good, but...something's missing. I like the album version at least 3x more. The ambience isn't there in this version. This lacks the ethereal sound.
