I love hearing artists talk about their process. So often interviews just ask about the person's girlfriends or kids or other personal shit.

I love the fact that he looks and behaves like a literature professor. He has that teacher flare about him without actually being one. Maybe it is the influence of his dear dad.

I was just about to say the samething even his dad said Nick is very much like him 👏🏻👏🏻

he's just a very authentic person, it may be the reason for his creative work - being who you really are and listenig to your inner voice

He just sounds like a typical artistic person to me. Creating is hard work.

So this what whichever interviewer meant when he said that Nick is "terrifying but always polite." :)
@itkojecockot3 жыл бұрын
there's nothing terrifying about him...... the problem is, that most people are accustomed to live in "velvet lies" and pretentiousness, just so they don't get their feelings hurt...... they always seek this social comforting approach to human interaction....... that's why someone with "no-bullshit personality" like Nick Cave seem to those people like someone who's socially quite hard to digest

Yes, I am amazed after this many years at what an Authentic person he is. He is down to earth and wonderful actually. Just wondering what happened to Mick Harvey with the orchestration? Been awhile, so not knowing...

When he talks about starting all over again it seems to me that he might be re-discovering his identity without allowing any kind of outside influence. Also, through all his creative efforts that he's known for and probably not known for, I think he is on a sort of quest to protect his identity from becoming corroded by the lies of life. I really appreciate that he tries to remain unspoiled in his identity. I hope he finds the grace he desires.

Nick Cave wouldn´t be the first artist/creative person who has a "voice" telling him he´s no good. That´s quite common among "those" people actually.

With respect, what Nick Cave feels may not be anywhere near the same as John Galantini feels. John Galantini is just projecting whatever is going on with himself.

That's true. The more talented and intelligent you are, the more you think you suck and the more stupid you consider yourself to be. Stupid people on the other hand rarely lack confidence.

@@roundchaos Actually, they don't. Imagine a stupid person creating and constantly judging their own skills and outcome. It doesn't really make sense, does it? That's because stupid people don't know they're stupid, because if they did, that light bulb would shine brighter and brighter everyday, making them question things and evolve. Creative, intelligent people are their own worst critic, otherwise they wouldn't strive to constantly be better than yesterday.

Have to disagree: starting something is relatively easy. Finishing something is difficult
@xwarx10003 жыл бұрын
I disagree Starting something is always difficult than finishing. Giving birth, being born is diifficult, death is relatively peaceful and easy no matter how much pain you are in.
@Daniel_Bianco2 жыл бұрын
I think what Nick was saying is that starting something *again* its hard. Like when you're in the middle of a creative process you must continue and never stop because if you do, entering that same rhythm that you were before is very difficult. In his case, I think the creative process as a whole must never stop, or it become hard to get in the mood again. Nevertheless, I agree with you that starting something *new* is always easier compared to finish an entire project or something

Yep, that's Satan alright, if you're doing well he'll tell you you are no good, quit, if you're being no good he'll tell ya you're all good keep it going. Evil is a force in nature whether you personalize it or not. Once you become aware, it can't do much but that snake always has a ways of hypnotizing you and putting you back you sleep: you 're all good, keep it going, you suck,better quick. Q:are those thoughts really you?

It's called manners and politeness. It's totally obsolete and very bad for your street credibility. Have you noticed he barely uses swear words? ... this guy is so not with it. Wait let me put on some Niki Minaj here.
