I hope that they eventually release a live version of Magneto, and was slightly disappointed that it (and, Rings Of Saturn) didn’t make the cut for their Live in Copenhagen EP, as it has such a different vibe than on the (phenomenal) Skeleton Tree album. Don’t get me wrong, I love the album version; but, there’s something about how they performed it live that makes it almost into a different song, from his growled vocals in the chorus, to the beautifully subtle slide guitar, transforming the ethereal studio song into a perfect synthesis of experimental jazz.

No slide guitar in Magneto or anything else since Blixa Bargeld left the band. The sound you mean is Larry Mullins playing the Mellotron as you can see in Magneto at Copenhagen : kzbin.info/www/bejne/emK7fJZuobeCitU Rings Of Saturn wasn't played in Copenhagen or anywhere in 2017 except for The Late Show in America. They only played it live when the tour continued in 2018.
