Cave, Springsteen, Brown, Bowie, Belafonte, Lydon, Strummer... best performers i ever saw.... And NO ONE does what Cave does better than Cave... he's Mephistopheles incarnate.... and now he's aging into spiritual anthems, kind of Leonard Cohen-izing himself.... I saw him tonight and loved it; but he has certainly evolved...

@@MilivojeVlaovic Cohen and Dylan are the Daddy of Lyrics. Nick Cave is good but Dylan and Cohen go to the next level. Remember Cohen is the real poet , a published poet before he ever got into music. “Ring the bells that still can ring, Forget your perfect offering, There is a crack, a crack in everything, That’s how the light gets in.” Your letters, they all say that you’re beside me now, Then why do I feel alone? It’s hard to believe that such a simple, lyrically sparse song can bring me to tears, thinking of loved ones I’ve lost, while also giving me the hope and strength to face another day. This may be the most perfect song, and this may be the most perfect performance of it. He even reminds me of the power of gratitude, when he thanks the other musicians near the end. To borrow a couple lines, this song is everything I came for and it gets me right down to my soul.

Im pushing the sky away beacuse I have my beautiful daughter, the smartest I would ever imagine, I'm pushing the sky away everyday I feel weak. She is my best gift, I feel precious every day. Every time I ask her what is she thankful for and loved for I hear "YOU MOMMY, every time you hugs me, showers me, give me food, read me a book" I'm dying. Cannot beleve. Its the time I spend with her, the time Im carrying with her, playing with her. It is my quality time. The meaning of life.

I don't know if you will see this, but, NIck, thank you for the depth of emotion that you have, from the beginning put into all you do. I have listened to you since discovering, sometime in the early 1980s, the first Birthday Party album appeared in the US. That was brilliant, and you have continued to offer brilliant, dark, deeply emotional music that I find beautiful. And you have shared much of it with beautiful videos as well. So I thank you, Nick Cave, for all of the dark beauty you have shared, including this lovely song.

this is the most choking version of this wonderful song! I heard it a million times before..., but with this "sound" and with its given force and power the song gets into the sky literally. Saying this while disliking mostly those highly overdosed "string versions". THIS here is a pure Nick Cave as it gets to the sentimental roots of the song.
