I'm glad I saw Nick Cave in Berlin when he lived there. Unfortunately I was too young to speak to him, even though he wasn't that famous back then. But he was already very well known in Berlin and was celebrated as a local hero. Wim Wenders, a well-known German filmmaker, made wonderful music 🎶 with him for his film. Then Blixa was there and the band Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds was formed. I have almost all of the band's records and CDs and have been able to follow his career since the computer age, so to speak! On the one hand that's great, but on the other hand it could get very annoying if it feels like almost everyone can watch what they want and NOT WHAT MR. CAVE WANTS, and that's when I realized that there are certainly many people for whom this is almost an obsession. I wouldn't want to do that, and these people would write what they want. Regardless of whether it's true or not. I actually wanted to reply to your comment and completely drifted off. It’s hard to believe that such a simple, lyrically sparse song can bring me to tears, thinking of loved ones I’ve lost, while also giving me the hope and strength to face another day. This may be the most perfect song, and this may be the most perfect performance of it. He even reminds me of the power of gratitude, when he thanks the other musicians near the end. I have listened to you since discovering, sometime in the early 1980s, the first Birthday Party album appeared in the US. That was brilliant, and you have continued to offer brilliant, dark, deeply emotional music that I find beautiful. And you have shared much of it with beautiful videos as well.
