I've been listening to this song over and over and Anita's voice recording brings me to tears every time. It sounds like just pure joy and love and I love her laughter.

I loved her and I love it. Huge shock to hear her voice... she was impossible to define, its what made her special. She would have liked this. I imagine a lot of the lyrics Nick sings would have been phrases she sent him?

Lyrics: "She rises in advance of her panties I can confirm that God actually exists She turns and smiles but never ever scantily O wow! O wow! How wonderful she is! Well, the horses, they have kicked down the stable And the rabbits have put carrots in their ears And her coloured crayons dance upon the table O wow! O wow! How wonderful she feels! The country doctor whistles across the meadow And the schoolboy, he hops up and says "Gee whiz!" The dogs, they are all barking at their shadows O wow! O wow! How wonderful she is! O wow! O wow! Well, nothing could compare Her friends, now dead, their spectral chins all nod And they braid a band of violets through her hair O wow! O wow! How wonderful she was How wonderful she is! Anita Lane: Do you remember we used to really, really have fun? We'd be just by ourselves, mucking around, really relaxed, not under pressure I guess that's how we make up songs! I... I remember we were in bed, and then we imagined somebody upstairs I don't even know if we heard footsteps, or imagined footsteps and then imagined the story That was in that little place opposite Brixton Prison I didn't even realise that everyone wasn't like that We tried to write a contract of love But we only got as far as doing the border There was never any words in it Which I thought said a lot more than anything else."

I hope he’s planning on giving financial proceeds to her children. They say she died poor, even though Nick had plenty of money at the time. Anita should’ve been on a healthy retirement payment from him being one of the original bad seeds. They would’ve been nothing without her artistic influence and the songs that she literally gave to Nick. She, Mick and Blixa all deserved a retirement settlement from Nick. If he treated people better, he might not have had them leave his band.

Nick is still well and truly with us, as great as ever. He has obviously released some stuff of late that reflects where he is at in life currently, that clearly isn't to your personal tastes. That doesn't equal an objective drop in quality, it just means you long for stuff he has already done and doesn't need to repeat. No good artist stays the same, we don't need a Stagger Lee from an older man who has lost two sons.

So you judge the whole song from the first line (I don't see anything wrong with it though). What a beautiful tribute this is. They were great friends. Does her permission after death really matter in this case?

@@Chevalier_de_Pas "Great friends"... He was pretty abusive towards her, tore up lyrics she had written, threw her through a glass table, etc. In a later interview she said "I wish I never met him".
