I agree that the lyrics are genius, but Cave and Lane collaborated in the writing of the song. If you're basing the statement on something like a Wiki search, you'll see that Lane and Bargeld cowrote it, but Bargeld is the guy that wrote the guitars. Lane and Cave wrote the lyrics, and it is very evident which parts were stand alone and which were a combination of the two.

I'll definitely be picking up the record, i saw the Bad Seeds live in Dallas, it was like nothing i'd ever seen before. Never fail to impress. The sound was so good at the Dallas show you could feel the bass of the guitar, and Nick's voice to the farthest seat.

There's nothing like seeing this man live it's an experience and a performance. To me he's as close to Leonard Cohen than anyone else. I will go as long as he continues to tour my only request is hear "The Carny" he doesn't do it all and it's his best song.
