Can't argue how awesome all those are, but THE GREATEST drum intro was We're An American Band, PERIOD! BTW, I love to listen to you play.

Stargazer (Rainbow), Fireball (Deep Purple) and Where Eagles Dare (Iron Maiden) all have probably the best drum intros in rock. They are also all produced by the legend, Martin Birch.

I agree, and I would personally add Painkiller (Judas Priest) and Honor Thy Father (Dream Theater) to the list.

I'm most appreciative of this Video, primarily because of the Sound of the UNmicced Drums. I'm hearing terrifc drum sounds without EQuing, in the room with just the Voice Mic. Nick is a terrific and well schooled Drummer. I yearn to get the sounds from his drums which escape me. As a Context to my comments...I'm a 71 yo, retired guy who resurrected playing after 50 Years [1969]. Since 2019, after recommencing playing drums, i have watched numerous YT videos in the hopes of learning much more about Drums, Drum equipment, Drum Heads and Drum Tuning - all the things that I knew very little about playing as a young teenager in 1967...

Nick, God bless you Bro! So glad you mentioned Cozy! His Stargazer drum intro is most certainly one of the greatest drum intros in the history of all drum intros..!! 💯

Excellent! So many to choose from, great choices. I remember first hearing Fireball when i was around 10, knowing Ian was a single bass drum guy it drove me crazy trying to play that. Only to find many years later he used one of Keith Moon's bass drums to make his kit a double bass kit during the recording of that song.

I'm not even a drummer but Nick is always fun to watch and listen. I miss the old Spock's Beard days but I understand that we need change and explore new ideas. Nick's been involved in so many prog projects, I watched him play with Frost*, another one of my favorite bands. Great to see you back!

The drum sounds on maidens piece of mind is some of the best ever recorded. Same with powerslave. The sounds are just killer. That studio in Jamaica has some magic in the walls.
