For 21 years I thought this was an original Magnus Uggla song. I just resently discovered it is not!! But what the hell! Bouth Nick and Magnus do this song great!!!

I remember enjoying learning this for my own enjoyment, not as band work. I shared it with my mother, who was not a fan of rock but who appreciated music, mostly singing (She was a terrific musician and teacher/coach, helping me best understand how to sing with feeling and accurately convey the phrasing with some individuality on my part.) Thanks again, Mom. RIP.

James McCulloch (who wrote this tune as well as all the others from the album this song is from, 'Frequency') seemed to have disappeared without trace. Such a shame, what a terrific tunesmith. Nice picture of Nick.

I don't know exactly how long I've been on the hunt for this tune, so I wanna say THANKS A BUNCH!!! I had the 'Frequency' LP as a kid, and saw Nick Gilder open for Styx in Buffalo, NY circa 1979. Great stuff, I've just been transported to those good old days!

I just got a chance to see Nick Gilder at a festival outside Edmonton Alberta and it was great. He doesn’t sound like a girl anymore but still gets the songs out and the band was great! What I would give to see that show in 79’

It’s a great old comment. I’m always hunting for good rock and roll from the past. Suggestions? I have rediscovered Alan Parsons Project through Utube. The babysitters were playing him a bit when I was a kid and probably said I would like it when I’m older. He was right! Rock on Peter!

@@oldfriend2317 You strike me as perhaps a Tom Cochrane & Red Rider fan,,, or maybe...Gowan, Saga, Max Webster, FM etc. all gems from my dusty memory banks! I have so many KZbin music playlists to dig through, I'd love to read ANY comment you'd like to share! I'm off to watch the new Tom MacDonald music video for "Brainwashed" to keep up with what the kids are into! Stay cool this summer, @Old friend.

You hit the nail on the head. Will have to brush up on some of these albums. Since Canada day it’s been all about Kim Mitchell and Max Webster. Can’t get enough of it. I know what my neighbours are going to be listening to tomorrow! lol

Ok...this was unexpected. Uggla didnt write Centrumhets out of nothing? Well, my world doesnt fall apart, the original is quite different, more fundamental and a cool synth part in the verse. More 70s sounding... thanks for the upload.

@Mark Johnson ... when was that? 70s? 80s? Regardless, thats terrible. Probably a type of bullying there in Omaha (Nick considered too fey compared to the smirking, cool Cars). Because song-for-song, Nick had stronger melodies than the Cars..
