I was 5 when I got diagnosed and I remember being petrified. But watching this a few years back made me realise I wasn't alone. Now I'm 15 and sure it's still hard at times to deal with but I'm able to live my life without it holding me back

I just got through a horrible month with health and when my parents didn't know what to do for me I just played his music all night.. He being public and helping is the best thing. it's a way of helping kids. I love this kid. He's just awesome

Im also diabetic and I know how Nick and every other diabetic feels. sometimes it does suck but everything works out in the end as long as we take care of ourselves and keep out Blood Sugars in good condition. Hopefully one day they will find as cure for this.

When I was born, I was born with a very rare and serious disease. I surgically removed the 90% of my pancreas, and at age six, I got diabetes and i have been struggled with it for almost ten years now. I just wanted to shares story. I'm 15 now btw.

i despise the jonas bros music but i feel for him and all diabetics, im 28 and was just diagnosed with type 1 diabetes and it is a lot to deal with, its pretty scary. your whole life changes and it really is crazy. only people with diabetes can relate and more specifically people with type 1! good luck to all other diabetics out there, what doesnt kill you makes you stronger!

I have lots of family who had, and have diabetes and I wanted to help I found Dr.Wallach he has figured out how to help Diabetics I hope this helps. He says that you could live to a old age and be healthy with all your parts intact.

Actually he does have meetings with young diabetes. He's funding the research. When asked what the best gifts he's received he always answers donations to diabetic tesearch. I'm a type two diabetic. It's not exactly the same but I prick my finger 8 to 10 times a day. My sugar bounces around like a ball. 2 syringe injections am and pm. Pen injection 15 minutes before any meal. Then an injection of a third insultin in mid-day if needed. Lately I've been running low 40 to 53. Adjustments where made by my physician and I'm hanging in there. It's sometimes hard. You go to something like a potluck and can't eat 80% of what's on the table. No birthday cake, sugar free beverages. I contracted it as an adult, major shock had always been extremely healthy. If you can understand you fight daily. The fight has kept me alive. Hardest job I've ever done.Thanks Nick for your openness and fight for a cure.

Thirst, mood change, weight loss, exhaustion and fluctuating hormones are just a few of the key factors. Everyone is different so you have to be extremely cautious. I'm type 2 and it's just as hard. Both are awful, but you follow the rules and take care of yourself, and it all comes together. You feel better, but constantly test and do what's necessary. Hope this answers your question at least from my experience.

I’m furious that there is so much media info about type 2 but not on the symptoms of type 1 diabetes.
