Nick is such an amazing person. I look up to him. One day (I had already been diagnosed with type 1 diabetes by then) I decided to google "Diabetic Celebrities". Nick Jonas popped up. I was in total awe. I was never a fan of the Jonas Brothers, so I never knew he had diabetes. I thought,"Wow. Nick Jonas is this famous, and he has done such amazing things in his lifetime. And he never let diabetes get in his way." What a great, inspiring person to look up to. I had to know more about his diabetes, anything I could know. I found out he was diagnosed in November 2005, so he has had it now for about 10 years. While doing my research, the song "A Little Bit Longer" kept coming up. I didn't want to check it out at the time, so I ignored it. I kept seeing good reviews about it and how it was such a beautiful song. So I listened to it. He wrote in a way not specific to himself, but in a way all diabetics could understand. Just a minute or so into the song, I started crying. It explained my life as a person with diabetes. It saved me in a way no one will understand. It helps me when I have hard times. Just a couple weeks ago, I got so angry at my diabetes that I just wanted to die. I stayed in my room, crying. I wouldn't move until my mom convinced me to come out. I then remembered Nick's speech about his diagnosis. It was something like this: When I was diagnosed, about a year ago, I started thinking,"I'm gonna die. What's going on?" As I learned more about what diabetes was, I thought,"Why me?" Then I started thinking,"Why not me? This is a great opportunity to do great things, a new door to open." I remembered this, and I knew if Nick can do it, I can do it. Eternal thanks to Nick Jonas.

anybody who disliked this does not know what we go through, all the obstacles we face. i fought drug addiction and anxiety and can honestly say today that i have good control over my diabetes. my name is jamie macmullin and im not ashamed of who i am. im not ashamed of my diabetes. it gets hard but that gives me motivation to push harder then anyone could ever imagine. stay strong guys

I can't stop crying when I watched this video, I've been looking for it for ages, thanks for posting it up. I support Nick Jonas with his diabetes just as much as I support everyone else with diabetes. Good luck everyone and I can feel its tough. Amazing speech made by Nick. He had this tone in his voice though. You know when you're about to cry and you try to stop it, it sounded like that, and I felt so bad. Love you, Nick, Joe and Kevin. I have diabetes and I'm gonna be honest, I didn't really like the Jonas Brothers before I got diagnosed, but now he is my biggest inspiration and nothings gonna change that. The week when I got diagnosed were the scariest days of my life and his story just made me stronger... you don't really hear a lot about diabetes and I'm so happy that he's managed to tell everyone about it...

he really does inspire me. when you watch this video you see the pain it caused him when he learned he has diabetes. but you also see the hope in his eyes, you see how much he wants to inspire other people who has it. and it's really amazing to see throughout 6 years, he inspired millions of people. he made a change. that's one of the reasons he's my hero.

Nick inspires me. I don't have diabetes, but I have epilepsy, and my brother has diabetes. I've considered my self a freak and wanted to give up, but Nick inspired me to stay strong, and even though it's hard to do sometimes, I think of his insprational words. When people put me down, it's hard, but Nick helps me to stay strong. I love you Nick for who you are and your inspiration. Haters need to realize this is nothing to hate about.

I was four when I got it, so I have very few memories without having diabetes. Nick got it when he was like thirteen, so it must have been incredibly hard for him to cope, just like every other kid who gets it then. I applaud his amazing attitude towards living with it, and I really hope his career keeps on keeping on.

Nick Jonas really inspires me even thought I don't have diabetes... but I do use a power wheelchair... but when you look at Nick Jonas..... and yet... he still doesn't give up... and being in a power wheelchair doesn't slow me down ever... and it never has... he is just another role model of mine... to actually be such a positive young man...

It's so sweet and brave of him to come out and say that he has this illness, and in fact, he's okay with it. I know he greatly inspires kids with this disease, and makes kids without this disease greatly appreciate what they have. He mentions that you can acheive anything and follow your dreams even when you have an illness like diabetes. On top of that he's a very talented, appreciative person and I love him for this take and new step he's taking in his life. I'm glad to say he's my role model.

When I got sick in hospital with type 1 diabetes, I thought that there would never be a chance to make it in showbiz. My mum googled famous showbiz people with diabetes and Nick Jonas was the first to show up! Thanks to him, I was able to focus on getting better and realising everything is possible. I'm 16 and I've had type 1 diabetes since I was 11. I'm not specifically a Jonas Brothers fan, but I can appreciate all the things Nick is trying to do with diabetes charity. I think that some of you should learn a little more about diabetes first before you make all kinds of comments about it: "Nick doesn't deserve to have diabetes!" NOBODY deserves to have diabetes, but you can't escape a genetic disease. He's a great inspiration to young diabetics (not me specifically), and cheers to him.

I have Type 1 diabetes since I was eight, I'm 14 now, & I'm happy Nick Jonas had this video because diabetes is not an easy thing to deal with, but Nick Jonas can & hopefully that will teach people you can do anything in Life with diabetes it's an obstacle but you have to get past it & make sure it doesn't get in your way of anything you want to do. I've had to learn that a very difficult way, but I have to thank my Nurse Lorraine in Crumlin for that, I want to be a diabetic Counsellor, thanks
