Nick Lowe is one of the classiest rock stars around (or as he modestly describes himself, someone who "had a brief career as a pop star.") Instead of trying to maintain a youthful appearance, he has aged gracefully, and instead of continuing to play at ear-splitting volume and breakneck speed (as in, forever "Heart of the City"), he now turns out songs that are quiet, understated melodic and lyrical treasures. A true master.
