What a trip. I worked for Nick in his restaurant when I was in high school when it first opened for a year.

Haha! Kinda wondered what happened to Nick's Fishmarket after all these years. No longer in HI, not in BH, not in Chicago. Sad. Know most of this story well and came into that part of "your" life/lives shortly after you opened Nick's in Chicago. I was a shy, (no longer - I hung out with Nick) impressionable 23 yrs. old at the time and Aaron, Richie, Barbara, Vince, Judy AND David, "Ray Jay," friends, family, the Russian teacher and your entire staff were incredible and the loyalty between you, your employees and friends left an indelible mark in my young mind. 42 yrs. later, 39 yrs. of marriage, 2 incredible sons (one named Nick) I still live by that day in and day out, as does my family. Nick you taught us all a lot about life and inspired us to work hard, play hard, treat people the way you want to be treated, take care of those ppl, they'll take care of you and most importantly, live everyday like it's your last day. First Class. " Linda from Indiana"

I worked at the Waikiki restaurant as a rover then busboy and then moved to the Lahaina shop as a cocktail waiter. Nick was amazing, larger than life in his fur coat with a blonde on each arm. My car broke down and he loaned me a couple grand to get another so I could get to work, great guy.

I worked for Nick at his first "Nick's Fishmarket", which was located behind the International Marketplace, in Waikiki, back in the early '70's. I sure would like to call and talk to him, again. Anyone know the address he can be reached at?

My brother Bob Burback was a bartender there in the 80's!! Nick played a very special role in his life! I had the absolute, distinct honor of dining there with my Mom and Dad! Unforgettable! I loved the "elephant room" where the men smoked cigars after dinner! 😊
