I've been on the McCain train, never liked the Knecht pick personally. I think that determination, drive, and self-belief mean way more in the NBA than some college stats. Kobe was only drafted 13th and he turned into one of the GOATs because of those characteristics. Jared works hard as hell from what I've seen and that goes a long way, especially for Philly fans.

I was just thrilled he got 17 minutes of playing time instead of a few garbage minutes like the first two games. Glad the coach was able to see through his rose colored vet player glasses to the reality that only one other healthy player on the roster can create besides Maxey right now. I thought a reasonable expectation for McCain going into the season was to replicate similar production to Maxey's rookie season. I think Maxey averaged 8ppg on about 15-20 minutes per game as a rookie. He contributed right away despite his age, and that was even with Doc coaching the team and holding him back any chance he could get.

These young guys can play and they can also take a huge amount of pressure off the veterans if you let them play. You shouldn't have to go through a rebuild to see what these young players have to offer. This lack of young player contribution is all on Nurse he's the one who doesn't trust them and won't play them. The Sixers went out and signed 3 washed up guards this off season when they had the answer on the roster already.
