One of the things I love about Nick is how raw he is. All of the artists on your channel are raw, but Nick has a certain level of punk rawness that is just so honest and real and it keeps me coming back for more. There's nothing between me and his voice, between me and his feelings, between me and the lyrics, it's just so raw. Thanks Nick and thanks to y'all for capturing this

punk? Hombre this is how most singing used to be period, hell specifically the 1920's folk he inflects upon regularly in his vocals. Ya'll need to learn yer history before its forgotten for good
@bendingriver71013 жыл бұрын
@@victorkreig6089 is your implication simply that because something predates punk it's not punk? Because like, I LOVE jazz music and Bebop Jazz predates punk but to me Bebop is punk as fuck. I don't really see your point. Stop gatekeeping

@@lashermayfair0 i have to admit, I wasn't overly impressed with Sierra's appearance there last year. I'm not old-school country (to say the least!) and although I'm aware of the grand ole opry and the place it holds in some people's memories, I don't think people like Sierra, Nick, Ben Tod, Jason Dea West etc. really need it

@jimo9555 no they definitely don't need it! It's a relic, and youtube is a much bigger stage than the Opry. I just thought it was a good place to throw in that line from Hank 3 lol

Bit late to the game, but there you go, lyrics and chords below. Love Nick's music so much, a real inspiration! Capo on 2, D tuning aka 2 half steps down. You can play it in Standard tuning without Capo as well though The A7 is always played just for one stroke before switching to the E, listen closely to get the timing. if its too complicated, just stay with the A Intro E A Am E B7 E Verses E A A7 E / E B7 / E A A7 E / E B7 E Chorus A A7 E / A Am F# B7 / E A E / E B7 E / E B7 E Interlude E B7 E Chorus 2 A A7 E / A Am F# B7 / E A E / E B7 E A / E B7 E A Am E B7 E [Intro] [Verse 1] Under every yellow moon by your side I sweat and swoon Every evening closes slow we guide our way by city’s glow If you’re lost and low as I, be the road I walk at night I hope you’re resting where the willows all grow [Chorus] Where you’ve been, I’ll never pry, fallow land and bigger skies All I ask of you tonight is guide each wandering light I will not die in Louisianne, I’ll gaze upon you while I can Roll along big water, roll low Roll along big water, roll low [Interlude] [Verse 2] You’re high above me while I sleep, I sing my secrets to your deep An endless front porch lying naked before doom Every lower I spend my days for your mercy the crescent prays Don’t forget all of the ones you laid low [Chorus] Where you’ve been, I’ll never pry, fallow land and bigger skies All I ask of you tonight is guide each wandering light Be it Natchez or Creole Queen on your banks we softly sing Roll along big water, roll low Roll along big water, roll low
