I think the relatively recent history of QBs like Brady, Peyton Manning, and Brees have really poisoned the media to the point where they think QBs need to throw it 500+ times a season to matter. Last season, Hurts won 11 games despite a terrible defense and no Saquon Barkley. He had 4 GWDs and 3 4QCs including a rally to beat the Chiefs. Mahomes has also put up average passing numbers for the past 2 seasons.
